There was no Alilaguna boat from the Airport to Fondamente Nove at 21:40 as expected, because of winter timetable. I had to take an Alilaguna to Murano, then change to Linea N ACTV to Fondamente Nove, so the hotel staff and I didnt meet at the boatstation according to the plan. The hotel where I walked to (three min. walk) was dark, bell ringing did not help. The ACTV-boatdrivers back at Fondamente Nove were very helpful in spite of my poor Italian and called the owner of the Locanda Acquavita by cellphone, who arrived very quickly to pick me up. Good feeling getting immediate and kind help from many people in the middle of the night!

I really enjoyed my stay. I was all by myself at night in the house and loved the silence. The morning service was perfect.

Great location over a small but busy canal and bridge, watch tides coming and going, water traffic passing, in the morning many children chatting on their way to school. Very kind staff, comfortable and warm place after long walks in the winterly foggy town.

Problem phoning from the airport but this was probably because of not being used to the Italian phone system

Mini bar not required but was glad of space available in the fridge.
A kettle for hot drinks would have been appreciated.
Additional pillows would have been appreciated.
The technique for opening the windows to open/close the shutters was not indicated, found out by trial and error but no big problem!

We had late afternoon flights so being able to keep the front door key until ready to transfer to the airport was really useful.

Excellent location for both the sights of Venice and the Fondemente Neuvo vaporetti station. (good for transfer to airport and the islands)
Very quiet and restful.
Huge, comfortable bedsbeds - would suit American visitors
Superb restaraunts, including the highly regarded 'ALGIBAGIO' within a few minutes walk.
Room service very good and the maid was always very polite.
On a negative point, the shower cubicles are small and large people would struggle.

We especially appreciated the neighborhood
with children going to school, garbage barge
picking up their loads, and natives going about ordinary business. There are several very good resturants close by. The location is ideal for trips to Murano, Burano and the airport. And if you want to get to the touristy places they are within walking distance too.

The rooms were very clean and nice, the people very helpfull, it was calm.The best thing was, to get the breakfast to the room!!!

We had to leave the room at 11 o`clock in the morning, our flight was booked in the evening (21 o`clock). we could parking our baggage in the hotel, got the key for the housedoor and could come back when we had to leave!It was very friendly!!

Its very important to say, that the people are wonderfull and friendly. The rooms are nice, calm and very clean!

We arrived quite late and didn't know that after a certain time you can only take the night service so we got a bit confused on the vaporetto, as we had to change. This information would be useful on the website. Also direction from Ca' Dor to the Locanda woould have been useful, as maps are not very useful in Venezia

The room was spacious and lovely, but a bit cold. Heating system not very good, especially as the cleaner switches it off.

Very well located, close to all major tourists sites. Very clean, lovely atmosphere. Breakfast in bed included in the price, fantastic!!!!

Receptionist recommended great, local restaurant. There was a mix up on our arrival but it was our fault,; we were tired and didn't understand the receptionist the first time around. So we had to call him back. He was very helpful and courteous.

Quiet, but easily accessible to all of Venice. Breakfast arrived in our room when we requested. Charming decor, not lavish but very comfortable after a long day's walk.

The corner room that we stayed in looked out over the canal and bridge, with a walled garden along the side. We woke up each morning to the sounds of Venice coming alive.

It was raining in Venice when we arrived. We were wet to the bone, and the people at Locanda Aquavita were wonderful and very helpful. Our bags didn't get there till late and they made arrangements for us which they didn't have to do, and made calls to help us with tours that needed to be cancelled due to the heavy rain and even offered us their umbrella for the rest of the day.

Our stay was very nice. The room was very large and the bathroom in our room was modern and everything was very clean. The breakfast served in our room was good. With coffee and juice and sweet rolls with butter and jams and cloth napkins served on a silver try. It was delightful.

We needed to check out early to catch the waterbus to the airport, they were very accomadating to us. There were no hidden charges and check out took only minutes.

It was a little hard to find from the waterbus stop at Ca'd'Oro, especially in the heavy rain. the map was good if you came fromF.te Nove.
Also, it was quite and restful.

We stayed at a lovely Bed & Breakfast, the Locanda Aquavita, in Cannaregio section of Venice. Our room was large and the in room bathroom was modern. Breakfast was served on a silver tray in our room and the staff was wonderful, helpful and made our entire Venice experience wonderful. Should we come back to Venice we would stay here again.

It was great, very spacious. The room was large and more than we expected. The staff were very friendly about letting us in early to drop off our bags and leaving our bags there on the day of check out till our train later in the day.

The rooms were excellent and staying in Cannareggio was like living in Venice. Good local restaurants,shops and bars nearby.
Will definetly recommend this to friends.

We were not advised that we needed to call the hotel upon arrival so we looked for it ourselves but when we arrived no one was at the hotel and we needed to wait for some one to come for us

We had to ask for directions several times from the locals, many of whom were not familiar with the address or hotel name. When we finally found the street, we had to wait about ten minutes, mid day in the hot sun until a receptionist arrived. Fortunately, all else with the stay went well.

we were promised an airconditioned room. It was stated clearly on the voucher. To our surprise, first the gentleman asked us to choose a bigger room at a higher cost, because according to him they had quoted a wrong rate.
2. when we refused to change room , we were told that the aircondition in the room would not be put on and started. As the room was extremely hot, which he too acknowledged, we found it rather strange. When we showed him that it was clearly stated in the voucher we were told that was a standard thing which was put on the voucher, but the law stated that it could not be started and if we wished we could go search another place to stay for which he had no objection. This was really unacceptable, because it was obvious that at that last moment, we could not search any other place and waste our prcious time in Venice. After taking the trouble to book so much in advance to have a peaceful hassle-free holiday, we were really stuck.
I hope you either see to it that customers are not given this kind of treatment, because if we had been told that there was no airconditioning we would have booked elsewhere, as there were several offers at the time of booking from here and we could have organised something else.

I am afraid that if the AC is not on the room is extremely hot even with the window open as there is no cross ventilation and also extremely noisy the whole night, impossible to sleep, as there are boats passing all the time thru that canal.
If the AC would have been on it may have been OK,as the window can remain shut. but we did not have a chance to experience that.

11. As the staff is only available for a short time in the morning and not living there, it may be a good idea to have some contact possibility.
On the day of our departure, nobody appeared till around 9.30, all the breakfast chits were still on the table and we were almost ready to leave the place without meeting anybody. Luckily the staff arrived just as we were leaving and we could settle the bills etc before leaving.
We were told that this was due to some traffic disruption, which we can understand , but we had to leave and some information about the delay would have been very helpful.
