As a 'clean, friendly, conveniently located and good value small hotel' in Venice

I didn't use your directions since I had a guide (Frommer's) indicating how to go to the hotel. ... Description and images are always better on website than on reality. this is not a critic to the Adua because finally, the room was quite small but clean, clear with 2 windows and a renovated bathroom. but the hotel looked better on the picture and the room looked larger.
The staff were attentive to us. In addition, they were speaking french. They made call for us when we need and let us use their own phone for a local call. ... Small hotel with small rooms but clean and clear, with a/c but no elevator and a room on the second floor. Staff welcoming and helpful. Well located when you arrive by train: easy access with suitcases.

The rom, was roomy, extra clean, well iluminated, air condicioning working properly, the receptionist always available for help, directions and tips on my trip, very heplful. I would totally recomend the hotel Adua to friends, and family traveling to Venice and would stay there myself again. ... Friendly, service oriented. ... The receptionist was polite enough to get get to the yellow book triying to get a taxi for me at a very very dificult schedule. ... Excellent location. 100 meters from train station, at 80 meters from vaporetto (water bus) station in the Grand Canal, very close to the Piazale di Roma. ... As the web site.

Vaey convenient to the rail/bus stations, agreeable and not expensive by Venice standards.
But, a question for Venice Tourism. Why is is that one may eat well and not expensively in Venice, but it is impossible to find a budget hotel at reasonable cost?

It was a pretty nice, new and spacious room, though the prime location may mean that passing human traffic may still be pretty heavy late at night and early in the morning.
Only complaint is a lack of hot water when we requested from some at night.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. It was overall a very enjoyable stay at Adua. ... No ... Individual, cosy, authentic, clean, value for money (for Venice!) Brilliant location.

Very good location relative to the parking facilities and on a main walkway to the duomo.

when we arrived there was no one to check us in. there was a tv on quite loudly behind a door that we assume is where the owner lives. we knocked for several minutes. no one came so we went out for lunch with all our luggage in tow. when we came back there was someone there. ... i felt the website made the room seem more spacious than it really was. the room though was very clean and nicely decorated. every morning at about 8am the lady that seemed to be running the place would go out on the patio and yell at someone in the alley or accross the alley. this was not nice to wake up to. especially because they had a 10 minute conversation yelling. ... I feel that the adua hotel was very clean and decorated nicely. It was nicely situated near the train station which means we did not have to carry our luggage over all the stairs or take a taxi if we had chosen a hotel closer to the square. There was lots of good places to eat at near buy. I would recomend this hotel to my friends and family.
