This is a lovely small hotel filled with ambience and charm located in a very nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to the main areas. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

We found Hotel D'Orient to be one of the best hotels in Europe, the reception staff were exceptionally helpful and curteous, the breakfast was fantastic and the bedrooms one of the best. All in all, the hotel deserves a five star rating. We will definitely be returning back.

Simply awesome location, very quiet for those whom want a good nights sleep, at the same time very central to all amenities. Excellent restaurants and shopping very close by. A must visit!

Although it is in a quiet location, waterbus is only a few mins walk away and you can actually walk everywhere from here, ie St Mark's Sq only 15-20 mins stroll away.

We'd read instructions on the internet, from a previous guest, on how to get to the hotel from the airport and they were brilliant. Wandering down the alleys from the waterbus was lovely, and then seeing the entrance to the hotel along a gorgeous canal made both of us go 'Wow'.

The hotel was gorgeous, and the room outstanding. In the morning the smell of warm croissants wafted up to our bedroom and the taste of the breakfast was just as good as the smell. The hearty continental breakfast set us up for a day's exploring and sightseeing.
All the staff were helpful and the complimentary taxi to Murano was a treat.

We'd asked the hotel on the day prior to our departure to book us a taxi to the airport. They were extremely helpful in suggesting a departure time and the taxi was there on time.

One of the loveliest hotels we've stayed in. The service was impecable; the room extremely comfortable and in an idylic non touristy area. We'd definately stay there again!! And live there if we could!!!

Made a wrong decision about how to get to the hotel from the airport, because airport is not easily accessible and we used the Vaparetto, which was noisy and uncomfortable.

The rooms were much smaller than the website showed, and we paid extra money for a superior room which was next door to the laundry room and very noisy early in the morning as staff would talk loudly outside our door and wake us up.

Traveler with big luggage may experience problem coming from the Venezia SL station to the hotel unless you take the water taxi and also from the hotel lobby to the rooms and vice versa

Ideal location for a quiet place to stay and relax (especially sitting outside the bar on the canal side having a quiet drink in the early evening) after exploring Venice by day. Far enough away from the center to provide calm and peace at night but near enough to make the whole of Venice easily reached on foot or by water bus.
At least three excellent resturants within 10 minutes slow stroll ranging from cheap and cheerful value for money to an up market gourmet seafood resturant.

Very clean and well presented friendly hotel not in the main tourist area, be prepared for short but interesting walk to main areas, also if you take the water taxi from the airport be sure to ask them to go the long way round if you want to experience venice on way to hotel.

I was eventually offered 3 rooms (last 3 available)as the room had no natural light in the rooms. The first and second room had small windows near the top of the ceiling where you couldnt open the curtains. We eventually were offered the third room. Tjis had two large windows but they faced a wall, therefore the room was still dark, but the bathroom had a lot of natural light and made up for it, so we decided to stay with this one.

All the photos on veniceby.com show th ehotel at its best, ie windows with daylight flooding through the room. I was offered 3 rooms, all of which had no rooms which were bright. The breakfast was quite poor too. Especially the fact that there was very little dining space for the size of the hotel. We eventually decided it was better to have breakfast outside the hotel due to the overcrowding.

The hotel was fine, but not good value for the money. I was expecting 4 star accommodation and it felt like a 2-3 star.
I was offered 3 rooms during my stay. The first 2 rooms were very small with dark wooden beams, which made the room feel smaller, and had a tiny window where you couldn’t open the curtains. The third room was larger than the previous two but where it had 2 large windows, one faced a wall and the other looked into somebody else’s apartment.
The showers spray water over the entire bathroom due to an insufficient glass barrier, which also leaked water underneath making the floor saturated.
The restaurant area gets very crowded for breakfast, which make the experience very uncomfortable. We decided after the second morning that we would eat outside the hotel and found this a more relaxing experience, with more variety.
The positive aspects about this hotel are that it has a mini bar (although quite overpriced). They also show films for free on one of the television channels (in English). Towels and bathroom were cleaned twice a day.
Found the stay comfortable but would not like to stay here again.

The hotel was new renovated, for me it was a pleasure to have such a comfortable and clean room. If I will go once again to Venice, I book Hotel Ai Mori d´Oriente!

We had a little difficulty finding the hotel because a bridge we were to cross was closed, but it only caused a slight delay in our locating the hotel.

There was construction going on in the room next to ours--hammering, etc., but it only went on for about an hour while we were in the room. The workers quit about an hour after we returned from sightseeing.
