Because we arrived early, our rooms were not yet ready, but the hotel provided a place for our luggage until the rooms were ready. Good job! ... The restaurant in the garden was picturesque. The entire hotel was actually picturesque and made us feel that we were actually in Venice since it was not a chain. We loved it. Also, unlike other hotels, the drinks and the snacks in the minibar are actually included in the price of your room--a great surprise--so enjoy! ... The hotel is very close and easy to get to the boat for the airport--the staff gave us quick and easy directions. ... The hotel is in a great location--far enough away from the tourist crowd so that it is quiet at night for sleeping but close enough to San Marco Square and other sights to walk easily. The walk from the hotel to San Marco Square is a great walk through wonderful streets, squares and shops. (There is a great trattoria right around the corner too!) ... I would describe it as a wonderful, small accommodating hotel with 'atmosphere' that lets you know that you are in Venice and that provides you a great base from which to get to know Venice.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always received excellent service. This time we stayed at their small apartment close to the hotel, exceedingly comfortable and very good value

We stayed in a total of six hotels in three weeks and this was one of two that offered to take our luggage to our room upon check in. ... The proprietor, Mrs Anna, was very warm and showed a genuine concern for our comfort and dining experience. The wait staff were very pleasant as well. ... Extremely convienient to the Accademia stop for the ferry. ... I would recommend it. It was a bit smaller than I expected (we had to put our suitcases in the armoir to have a pathway to walk in the room). The dining was exquisite and the garden atmosphere very nice.

We liked taking the motoscafe from Marco Polo to Zattere, and a short walk along Rio Terra Antonio Foscarini to the hotel - a good arrival ... We arrived at the wrong time of year to use the outside dining area - next time maybe. The room at the top was good, with a little sitting room at the back, and provided views down the rio to the Giudecca canal from the balcony. We liked the superb food in the restaurant, and liked being close to the Accademia ... perhaps make more of the excellent situation ... small rooms but comfortable, very central loation but quiet

We arrived in a pouring rain and were treated very well by the receptionist. ... We only spent two days here but they were fairly gracious. The only negative thing I can say about them is that I asked for some tea bags and milk on my second night there, and they seemed put out that they had to get two tea bags. Since we were paying 180 euro per night, I thought that was quite small of them. I had expected that when they cleaned the room they would replenish the supply of tea and coffee in the room, which they did not. ... We split the charges on two credit cards and they were happy to do that for us. It made it easier for my friend and I to have it done that way so we wouldn't have to try to divide it ourselves and figure the currency rate etc. ... I would tell my friends it is wonderfully located and clean. I think it was a reasonable price because I heard Venice was very expensive to stay in. We were not too pleased with the fact that we couldn't get some teabags without an attitude, but all in all the place was quite nice.

Room very small and although mini bar stated as included in daily price it was never refilled.
Also got the impression that breakfast would be taken in the garden but it was always inside even though it was sunny so that was disappointing. ... Rooms are very small. ... Freindly, great location , rooms very small -a bit claustraphobic - so you don't want to spend much time in them. No use of the garden for evening drinks.

We were delayed until 6:00 a.m. and they were there and prepared which was great. ... The hotel looked very nice on the web site and that turned out to be exactly true. I appreciated the elevator and the 4th floor vernanda. Rooms were more spacious then I expected. Great location, heart of Venice but easy to get to. ... It went very smoothly. ... A small Venician hotel that offered all of the amenities you expect from a European hotel. Beautiful location, less then a block from the Vaporelo. The room we had was very spacious for three persons, with a lovely shared balcony on our floor. A very good value for Venice.

The room was well cared for by the chambermaids. We particularly liked the provision of hot and cold drinks in the room. ... A small, well run, friendly hotel, moderately priced. Close to many of the tourist sights. I would recommend them to stay there.

I was very pleased with my room which although small had a delightful view (quite rare in Venice). Even the bathroom had a window with the same view. ... None ... More than adequate, and good value.

We thought the room was smaller than we imagined but we had a balcony which more than made up for the small room. ... The bar which is stated is part of the restaurant and not part of the Hotel. However, this did not spoil our stay at all and we had a lovely time. ... Typical Italian & Quaint

very efficient and welcoming ... We found the hotel very good -welcoming ,friendly, helpful, comfortable, tastefully decorated. The complementary mini bar was very welcome The restaurant was superb. ... The check out time of 12.00 was excellent and very useful. Checkout was very efficient ... Without going back to the website - The hotel was very well situated and extremely quiet and in a very pretty and quiet area. To be close to the Grand Canal and the Canal Della Giudecca was brilliant. ... Very comfortable ,efficient but relaxed and friendly. The staff were very helpful. The room was not very spacious around the bed but there was a delightful alcove with desk and antique chair leading to our own balcony over looking a garden which we really appreciated. The ensuite bath room was very good. The decor and ambiance of the place was very good and it was situated in a delightful area.

A most friendly and personal welcome. Would like to stay there once again. This is my third visit ... Well organized. No problem. ... A quiet, well-managed hotel located near some of the major attractions of Venice, yet in a part of the city relatively less crowded.

This is a charming hotel. Although our room was small, it was clean and decorated in a charming way. We enjoyed the balcony terrace. The breakfast was ample. The staff was especially helpful as there was a vaporetto strike the day we needed to take a train to Florence. We would definitely book this hotel again.
Martha Grimes ... The hallways are narrow, and the lift is small. ... Check out was easy. The clerk helped us book a taxi as there was a vaporetto strike and we needed to board our train to Florence. she was persistent, and we arrived at the train station with time to spare. ... The hotel is in an excellent location, close enough to the Accademia vaporetto stop and the Zattere, but far enough away to avoid crowds and noise. We thought it was an excellent location for exploring Venice. We loved the morning and evening bells that rung each day. This hotel also has a good restaurant. ... Charming, European, quiet, safe, & well located for exploration.

Continental Breakfast was very limitted in choices compared to other European City breaks we have stayed. ... Getting from the Airport would have been useful...we used a water taxi which was very expensive and meant we had to climb with our luggage over the Acadamia bridge. Whereas a water bus could have brought us to Zattere with a simpler walk to the Hotel and could have cost us nothing since we purchased a 7 day Venice Card. ... Good value and convenient location.

Our room was somewhat small, but generally OK. The room service was good in terms of cleanliness and replacing towels etc. The milk for tea / coffee making was sometimes not replenished. ... Very conveniently located in terms of waterbuses and the main attractions in the centre of Venice, but set within a quiet and attractive area.

I had to ask that the bedside rugs were hoovered, as they weren't clean when we arrived. The room was very hot at night, so we couldn't sleep, which spoiled our stay. I asked for the air-conditioning to be put on, but was told it was only available from June onwards. I said that it was advertised in the hotel brochure, and the staff later relented and put it on, so the last 2 nights were much pleasanter. Reception staff were efficient, but brusque, without the usual warmth we expect in Italy! Cleaners and breakfast staff were very friendly.Breakfast itself was disappointing, as the bread and croissants were mediocre. The restaurant (which we realise isn't part of the hotel) was excellent, with charming and very professional staff, and is a great asset to the hotel. We would make a point of eating there again, even if we didn't stay at this hotel. ... We were allowed to leave our cases for 3 hours as we did not leave Venice till the afternoon. this was a great help. We were given the opportunity to pay in Sterling, which I understand to be advantageous. ... That the garden isn't used for eating until June. We booked the hotel because of the garden, and never went in it, even though the weather was perfect (21-25 degrees). ... Efficient, but rather impersonal service. Excellent location. Quiet. Excellent restaurant, and close to several very nice places to eat. A bit expensive, but probably good value for Venice.

We found there was no toilet paper and the air conditioning was not working however these items were sorted soon afterwards. ... The breakfast provided was very poor quality and we felt it was not satisfactory to have to pay for extra items such as orange juice etc. We expected a much better offer. ... The accomodation was rather expensive compared to other cities but we believed probably market conditions dictated this. ... Yes. You have to pay extra for breakfast items. ... Agreeable overall.

Brisk and efficient rather than warm. The hotel is very poorly adapted for the less able - you go up and down three lots of steps just to get to the elevator! ... I found the room a little dark but it was really a nice location and very quiet. ... Venice isn't cheap - ... Access for the less able bodied is not easy, the lift is tiny. But it's a great location. ... In a quiet and convenient spot just outside the tourist whirl of San Marco, just across the Accademia Bridge. Very nice restaurants nearby (including in the hotel itself, though we didn't eat there and they didn't push it at all).

The room was considerably smaller than we expected. ... Although clean, the room was extremely small and we hadn't got that impression from the description. The shower was luke warm on a number of occasions. Breakfast was poor - 2 small rolls, a croissant and a packet of 'toast'. Anything additional you had to purchase separately. Again this was not clear from descriptions and was very disappointing. Air conditioning very welcome but noisy and difficult to change the temperature - it was fixed on 20c but we wanted it lower. I didn't feel we got value for our money - for £368 for 3 nights I expected better. ... You need to be clearer about the rooms and the fact that they are very small. Breakfast should be described more accurately with some clarity about 'extras'.
... Small with adequate facilities and okay if you don't intend spending much time in it.

booking was changed a few days before arrival (notified by mail to me by the hotel) to a very small room with two make-shift beds. fortunately, we were able to exchage them on the 2nd day with two small childre who were holding a double room with a big bed. ... the hotel has a very nice restaurant, but we found that the service was increasingly unfriendly as we were taking breakfast and evening meals there with friends and their children. particularly for breakfast, the service and the quality of what was provided were poor. ... not a very family friendly hotel. we were staying with friends who have children and dining at the hotel every night and taking breakfast in the morning and felt this was a nuisance to the restaurant staff. ... nice to stay at as a couple, very well located but not great for families with children.

The room was very small which I expected from the pictures but I would not book it again because of the size. The bathtub/shower was torture. You can't really sit down or stand up. A nice large shower would have been better. I know it is common in Europe but it is very uncomfortable. ... Excellent location. Bathtub/shower is very uncomforable. ... Very nice, but our particular room was too small. I'd suggest booking a larger room. I would definitely recommend the location,

We were allowed to leave our luggage for collection later that day.
Having to pay in cash was VERY inconvenient. ... The actual hotel looks very cosy and welcoming but we stayed in one of the the apartments and we got the distinct impression that because we were not staying in the hotel we were not entitled to the same benefits or courtesy. On the whole the Reception staff at the Alboretti were not always pleant or helpful. They made us feel as if they were doing us a favour, rather than the other way around.
There was no safe in the apartment so we had to keep our things with the hotel and that was not convenient.
Bath salts and shampoos were not replaced.
Though we were provided with a tray of coffee and tea in the apartment, there was no milk at all, not even the little sachets of UHT milk. ... Location excellent but would stay in another place next time.

Very lumpy old pillows in both the rooms I stayed in. They were changed when requested. The twin room I moved to had a balcony but unfortunately this overlooked the garden restuarant where the chef ended his evening smoking and talking loudly. This was my last night there so did not mention it. This would have been annoying if I had been there longer - otherwise it was very quiet. ... Very convenient location for all sights. Help with luggage to the water station on departure which was very helpful for a single lady passenger. Very safe to walk out of hotel at night and nearby to excellent restuarants. ... Excellent location but could recommend some other hotels nearby that looked better. Calcina and Belle Arte.

We were pleasantly surprised that not only did we get the quiet room we had requested, our room faced onto the back courtyard and had a balcony. ... We were surprised that the management of the Hotel and Restaurant was separate; therefore, restaurant charges could not be charged to the room.
And we were a little taken aback at the cost of meals in the restaurant; however, we realized quickly that the Restaurant was catering to another level of clientele; not regular folks like us. ... Obviously hotels in Europe generally are much more than we would pay in Canada for comparable accommodations. ... Quaint hotel with small but functional rooms. Restaurant too expensive to eat in nightly; although it had a lovely setting and wonderful meals.

The sleeping annex did not have air conditioning. This should have been explained. We took an additional room, for an additional charge, instead of using the sleeping annex since it was too hot to be in a room without air conditioning. ...
