The location is ideal being close to both bus and train station and only a few minutes walk from either. There are good local amenities such as restaurants, bars and shops. ... A typical city hotel - very well presented in the reception, general lounge areas and breakfast room but the room we stayed in was in need of refurbishment

It was said there was a coffee machine. There was not. To get this we had to go the bar next door. There were NO facilities for hot drinks at all.The room was very noisy;soundproofing not good. ... There are NO facilities for making tea or coffee. This would normally be expected of a 3 star hotel. ... The hotel appears to be run down compared with what was on the web site. The room was rather dull and dark and the view from the window depressing.Overall the hotel had obviously seen better days.

We arrived at the hotel and we find the personnel who welcome us very kind and give us all the information that we asked him for our stay. ... it seems that all the hotel in venise are very expensive. In fact all the things that we have done were expensive ... I think that for the first time in venise it will be better to give more details about the situation of the hotel ( we were lost with our bagage) ... Marvelous , quiet and easy for a main base to visit venise

The room that we were given was below our expectations. We were expecting a much nicer room; Such as the ones portrayed on the website. Also the window to our room was very dificult to open which is probably just as well since the only view was of construction and scaffolding not the hidden garden. The staff on the other hand were very friendly and willing to help. It was also explained to us some of the flodding history in Venice which I found very interesting. I would stay at this hotel again simply because the staff made us feel welcomed and because of their friendliness. ... I think that better directions to the hotel should be provided from the train station. Even with a map of Venice which we purchased upon arriving it took us about 45 minutes to find the hotel.

First stay in Venice but have stayed in major cities worldwide - hotel was VERY expensive for the quality of accommodation. ... Expensive (but that's Venice for you) moderate hotel, but in a perfect and scenic location to explore on foot or grab the best of the water-bus services.

The stay at this hotel was pleasant. ... None that come to mind, except there needt to be better directions from the rail station. Not many people I asked on the street knew of it and it took quite awhile to find it. ... Typical European style hotel with small, appropriately styled rooms, a nice European style breakfast, and a good location.

Service excellent, staff extremely helpful, room spotlessly clean. Acommodation very good value for money. ... The hotel kept our bags from morning to after lunch in a secure cupboard so we could do last minute siteseeing. ... reasonably priced cafe and restaurants nearby. Hotel quiet, but with a sense of history to the public areas. Breakfast more than adequate - the apricot croissants were to die for. ... Convenient, quiet, beautiful location overlooking a small canal with a beautiful bridge right outside. You can get a water taxi right to the hotel entrance - a magical way to arrive. The hotel arranged a visit to Murano for 10 euros per head, including a tour of a glassmaking factory, terrific value. All in all - just perfect for my 60th birthday celebration.

It was not confirmed prior to arrival that I had a room with a canal view although one was provided. ... The hotel is undergoing a certain amount of uplift and, while not intrusive in any way nor detremental to the standard of the hotel, there are still some areas which will benefit from improvement. ... Close to the bus station yet within easy reach of the grand canal. Very clean, quiet and comfortable with friendly staff. Good restaurants nearby at very reasonable prices.

The hotel is only missing a bar & restaurant for the evenings, it would have been nice to relax in the bar at night after a hard day's sightseeing ... Excellent value, good location away from the crowds with very friendly staff

WE were provided with a baby cot which we didn't ask for (no baby!) ... We were disappointed that there wasn't sufficient hot water in the mornings to have a shower. This was also the season of aqua alta so there was flood water in reception and in the breakfast room - we didn't mind this too much, its not the hotel's fault! ... Very nice, helpful people ... The aqua alta issue could be a problem for some people ... Pleasant, well located for buses to airport and vaporetti. Quiet, clean safe area.

As I was staying with a male friendm it was amusing being asked in front of a crowded reception whether we wanted one or two beds -a bit like an assistant in a crowded Pharmacy asking whether you want standard, large or small comdoms! ... It is a lovely hotel but it is expensive for what it is. I stayed in a much better quality hotel, in an even better location for less in Florence, which isn't cheap. While I like the hotel, I would not stay there again at that price. ... The hotel has a lovely location overlooking a canal on which gondolas travel. It is important to ask for a room with a good canal view. The hotel reception area is large and charming with period features. The rooms are clean and modern and ours was average in size. The courtyard is nice, though not as big as the image in the website suggests. It rained heavily while we were there resulting in the courtyard flooding, and I can image the hotel reception occasionally flooding. But that is Venice. The receptionists are multi lingual but not great at english. We checked that we could get a river bus to the airport and the times, only to find we had been given details for the road bus.

The room didn't have a view of the canal, and I asked if we could change. The staff at the hotel were helpful and offered an alternative room with a view, but said that it would be noisier than the one we were in, so we stayed put.

The room had no wardrobe or cupboard space for clothes, so we changed rooms for an extra E20 per night. ... Lovely hotel in a good position, but make sure you get a room with a wardrobe!
