The Locanda Antica Venezia was a very nice and clean hotel. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. ... I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and may return in the future, however, the website should state that there are many stairs to climb because there is no lift.
Someone incapable of carrying luggage up 67 steps should not consider this hotel. For those that can, the hotel will be worth the climb. ... See above ... Good value, clean, pleasant rooms, great staff. Many stairs.

The Hotels location was excellant literally less than 2 minutes walk from St Marcos Square ... You shopuld include the 3 flights of stairs to the Hotel reception incase of elderly or disabled customers. ... Venietian, cultural aswell as relaxing quiet (appart from Church Bells, but what would expect from a city with over 200 Churches).
Really enjoyed the stay!!!!!!

I was shocked to find the hotel on the third floor, this was not easy for my wife,we also had to carry our luggage, there is no lift.I suggest that this is made very clear to anyone booking this hotel. ... Three floors up to the hotel, not very good when you don,t expect this. Also the building is being renovated and there was scaffolding surrounding the front of the hotel. ... Very nice hotel but be prepared for the long climb up the three floors with your luggage.

We loved it! It was sparkling clean, rooms were nicely decorated, the staff went out of their way (in fact, Gianni sent us to a restaurant where the Venetians dine and it was the best meal we had in our 8 days in Italy), the breakfast was excellent, location superb and the view from the terrace was lovely. We stayed with our 2 daughters (ages 13 and 18) who both confirmed that they were definately stay again if in Venice. The exterior of the building is misleading, but when you go up the stairs it is a warm and welcoming locanda. Very much recommended! ... See comments above--excellent property. ... Smooth and pleasent. ... nothing to add. ... see above.

Close to Vaporetto station at San Marcos Square. ... The rooms were clean, staff helpful and always available, great location, nice breakfast. There are three flights of stairs to go up but if no health concerns, not a problem. ... We would stay there again.

Great Location! ... One thing we didn't see on the website that we found out when we got to the hotel was that it was on the 5th floor with no elevator and there was not help to carry our luggage. Therefore, it wouldn't be ideal to all visitors. ... Great location and friendly staff. If they don't mind walking up 5 flights it's a great place!

This was an excellent little pensione, charming, clean and well-run by helpful, friendly staff. It has a wonderful location in the middle of Venice, and I've already recommended it to friends. I was very happy with it, and will stay there again next time I'm in Venice. ... This is a friendly, charming pensione in the middle of Venice. It has a wonderful mix of old-world style and modern comfort. Breakfast on the roof terrace is a great way to start the day, and the staff are really helpful. Highly recommended if you don't mind the stairs.

I think any directions in Venice are hard to understand but we did have a general idea where we were. The room was not ready when we got there (our fault we were early)and the staff sent us up to the terrace and filled us full of coffee while we waited.(only 20mins) It was great. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very helpful. We had a great location and for the money it was fantastic. ... The best thing is that there was no nasty little surprises. The rooms looked exactly on the website as in real life. They were spacious and very clean. It was a pleasure to stay there. ... We left very early in the morning so we fixed our bill the night before and they were ready for us. We had not trouble at all with them. ... no ... I have alreay recommended it to all my friends as a fantastic hotel very central, clean, very cheap considering the high standard of the hotel and a pleasure to stay at with very friendly staff.

Took a while to find, glad we arrived in the middle of the day & not at night! ... Travelling with our son & his partner who were on a limited budget I tried to find somewhere central but affordable. Wow what a find! My son was exhausted after cycling the GranFondo in the Dolomites & this was the perfect place to relax. All the staff were friendly & the cleanliness outstanding. Well done Locanda Antica Venezia. ... If elderly the stairs could prove a problem. ... As a gem in a fantastic location.

Excellent location. Room was clean and quiet with great air conditioning and a modern bathroom. Be prepared for a walk up 3 flights of stairs (they carry your luggage) for reception/rooms. There is a terrace on the 4th floor which was nice for sitting out for breakfast or in the evening. Overall a good place to stay in Venice.

The directions would have been clearer if it had said go down 'frezzaria' and look for the small overhead sign directing you to the hotel which is situated a few metres off 'frezzaria'. ... A beautiful hotel very conveniently situated a few minutes away from St Mark's Square.

no ... no ... The Locanda Antica is a great place to stay in Venice. It's only about a maximum of 5 minute's walk from San Marco. The staff is friendly. Rooms are not large but are big enough There is no elevator. That could be a problem for some people but we didn’t mind The terrace overlooking the roof tops of Venice is a fantastic place to take breakfast. We will definitely like to visite the same hotel again A.Stoks Belgium

Great place, lots of steps. As far as directions, keep in mind that when people arrive from the airport boat, they need to take the left off the boat, cross the small bridge then make the right. ... Very helpful and polite. ... Extremely convenient to the majot sites of Venice. Highly recommended!

Transport of suitcases was a little difficult from the water bus but on arrival it was to a little oasis. ... Extremely comfortable though one can never legislate for the 'room door slammers'.Confusion may be caused if asking for a coffee and with mixed results. ... Very quick and without problem. Everyone courteous and helpful. ... Recommended without any reservation, don't be put off by the hotel's appearance as you climb the stairs. If you find stairs difficult don't struggle , leave your bags below and a porter will deliver them to your room on request when you get to reception.

The entrance to the hotel was very difficult to find. ... We got rooms in the new department, which was not described on the web.site, and these rooms were high above our expectations. ... A better description of how to find the entrance. And you should mention the new department with rooms suitable for a family of 4. ... I would recommend the hotel, and advice my friend to ask for the new rooms. The breakfast is at a minimum standard, but the roof terrace is very nice.

We had been told that someone would be there to help us with our luggage as we were on the 3rd floor and we are an older couple. When we asked for help the man at the desk said this is not a New York hotel, you know. But he did come down to help when he saw us struggling. ... In general, everything was fine. Breakfast was very nice with a most accommodating server. The location was great. ... a very small hotel (7 rooms) with clean, spacious rooms (our experience) in a very convenient location.

We were rather disappointed with the size of the room and with it being right next to reception (we were, after all, staying for four nights). I had explained on booking that we were celebrating our 35th anniversary and that we would like a superior room. Unfortunately we did not get this.We asked to see another room but the consierge at the time was most unobliging. ... If we had had one of the better rooms my comments would have been more favourable.

The only thing I didn't understand was that we would be going up to the third floor to check in and that was where the rooms were. I thought the rooms were on the first and second floor. On the other hand someone caried our luggage to the third floor so it was not a problem. Good exercise for us. ... They were very helpful when we needed to arrange a water taxi to go to the airport. They arranged the porter and the taxi and both were very much on time. We are most grateful for that help since we certainly didn't know what to do.
You have a quaint bed and breakfast. the only suggestion I would have is to have coffee or tea ready before 8:00 a.m. so that people who have to leave before then could get some. ... I don't remember all the details on the web page. ... Quaint quiet, and comfortable. I would have loved to have seen the Franciscos on the ceiling on the lower floor but do understand why we couldn't. I wish you the best in the continued remodeling process.

There were 62 steps to walk up from the hotel entrance on the streeet to the reception area...quite a hike when doing it a few times daily. Our room (#1) was situated right next to the reception desk...did not have a feeling of total privacy as the room was not totally soundproof. The room was decorated very nicely and was very clean..though the toilet made quite a noise when flushing it. We arrived by boat bus and hadn't realized that there were 2 San Marco stops..we ended up getting off at the first one and had to walk quite a distance to get to the hotel..up and down stairs over the bridges..totally exhausted by the time we finally reached the hotel. We were wondering how we were going to make the journey back..we would need to hire someone tohelp us with the cases...and FINALLY someone at the desk (this is after talking about this situation a couple of times) told us that we had got off at the wrong stop and that it was very close to the hotel and wojdn't entail carrying our luggaged up and down stairs. It was very easy once we were clear on where the stop actually was. Found staff impatient at the fron desk...but maybe it's just the Italian intonation when speaking English. Would have preferred a room with mre privacy but did not ask for a room change...would I go back to this hotel..maybe as it's affordable and clean, but would nkow know where to get off when taking the water bus fromthe train station aznd would ask not to be put in room 1 because of lack of privacy. ... steps to the reception area...and be very clear where to get off the water bus. ... quaint and quite charming..clean rooms..
