We were worried that the hotel might not be as
easy to get to from the train station as the
information stated. We were pleased, however,
to find that the bridge was indeed close to
the train station and to the hotel. It really
is literally across the 'street'.

Our room was absolutely beautiful. I tend to
judge a hotel heavily on the quality of the
bathrooms. The bathroom was like new, it
actually surpassed what I expected from
looking at the pictures beforehand.

Checking out was a breeze. They even have the
option of converting the bill to dollars
versus euros, which we utilized. The staff
couldn't have been more friendly.

The staff absolutely went out of their way to
be helpful to us. The hotel has a very
romantic feel to it, I stayed in a room with
my sister, so that (unfortunately) didn't
apply to us. My sister and I felt like we were
on a romantic getaway most of the time we were
in Venice anyway. The hotel didn't make us
feel awkward because of our situation by any
means.

I would tell any friend who I knew was going
to Venice that they would be crazy to stay
anywhere else. When we were researching the
trip we looked into hotels that were more
expensive, but I can't imagine they could
possibly have been any better.

We arrived 3 hours before the check-in time and the receptionist allowed us to store our luggage until it was time for us to enter our room. She gave us excellent advice on the location and could not have been more helpful.

This hotel is ideally situated - the vaporetto terminal is about 50m away and you can get a water taxi right to the hotel. By crossing the bridge to the other side of the Gran Canal it takes about 40 minutes slow walk along the 'New' road to St Marks Square. This walk is very pleasant taking you through the areas frequented by the local Venetians where there are many excellent shops and restaurants and the prices are much lower. You will also see market traders and street artists.

The reception booked our water taxi to take us to the airport and the taxi arrived within 5 minutes of making the phone call, as promised. Our luggage was carried for us to the taxi and placed on board.

This hotel is a gem! It is ideally located, the rooms are very nicely appointed and the service is excellent. I would choose this hotel again and again. I took quite a few photos of the hotel both external and internal (bedroom, bathroom, reception, bar and restaurant) so that we could show these to our friends who are planning a trip to Venice. Based on our recommendation, this will be the hotel for them!

The front desk staff was very nice, helpfull and very polite. The room was adequate and a very good view. We also enjoyed the A/C.
The staff informed us of points of interest in the area. We would recommend this hotel.

This is a good-quality hotel; nicely furnished and decorated and with staff who are helpful and friendly. It is very conveniently situated - just a 5-minute walk from the bus and train stations - (not too far to drag your luggage!) and with a vaporetto stop and gondola stage close by, but it still has a very real 'Venice' feel about it by being sited on the Grand canal and within sight of the Scalzi bridge. It was nice, after a day out in Venice, to sit with a coffee and ice cream at the outside tables and watch the world go by. There are plenty of restaurants near by, though you do have to be fairly selective because eating out can be very expensive and sometimes of indifferent quality. It's very much a case of trial and error.
A continental breakfast was included in our price and we found this well-presented and more than adequate; and the breakfast room is spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished.
We had a front room with a balcony and although this was very romantic, if you're a light sleeper it can sometimes be slightly noisy with the canal traffic outside. Take a tip, use the outside shutters and this helps to keep the noise down to a more manageable level.
My wife and I loved Venice and when we next visit, we will very definitely stay at this hotel again.

We were very pleased with Hotel Antiche Figure and its staff. Our room was beautiful, with an especially large, attractive bathroom. My only complaint was that we had ordered a triple room, which had been indicated as a double bed plus a single bed; but the double turned out to be two singles pushed together. The breakfast rooms and breakfast were better than anticipated. The staff graciously allowed us to leave our luggage there the next day while we toured Venice. The location is perfect so close to the train station, and it's very easy to find. We would stay there again.

I would have no problems about staying at this hotel again. The staff were always polite and friendly and helpful when we asked questions. The bed was extremely comfortable, just what you need after a long day walking round Venice.

Consider including a discounted fee for water taxi to the hotel. Since water taxi's from the airport to the hotel do not take credit cards, we had to use more cash than we expected.

Suggest working a deal with Gondola organization located right outside the hotel. If you can obtain a discounted rate, you can provide built-in customers to the owner.

The hotel is in an excellent location for travellers going to Venice for only one day and using the train system, due to its close proximity to the train station.

For an additional 20E we were asked if we wanted to stay in a suite, which we gladly accepted. It had an awesome canal view and lots of room for the 3 of us. The bathroom was amazing!

Our accommodation was more because we chose to upgrade. I selected good value for the money as this hotel was nearly double the cost of most of our hotels in Europe. I suspect that Venice is just pricey in general, so we knew what we were getting into prior to arriving. It was also one of the nicest properties we stayed in.

The room was well decorated and clean with an exceptional view of the grand canal. The room was however a little smaller than anticipated and portrayed on the web site.Some guests could find the canal front room noisy although I found it atmospheric !

I was very happy with my stay. The only cost I would quibble about is paying extra for a macchiato coffee to drink at breakfast time . The breakfast is quite basic so I feel A CHOICE OF COFFEE should be included in the overall cost.

Of all the hotels we were in during our 12 days in Italy, the Antiche Figure was probably the nicest. It was very convenient to the train station and to the Grand Canal.

At the moment a new bridge is being built over the canal starting just outside the bus terminal. We arrived from this area and so the directions to the hotel were somewhat unclear because of all the building work, scaffolding etc. No fault of the hotel of course, but if coming in from here, just be mindful of this until building work has been completed.

We were pleasently pleased by Hotel Antiche Figure. Our room was small but very clean. I would have loved to have had a feather pillow. Outside of that everything was perfect. Staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. The lady working the buffet was very friendly and went out of the way to make you feel comfortable and ensured you had everything you needed.

We had to leave early. Staff was ready for us and checkout process was quick and efficient. It was raining the day we left and they even gave us an umbrella knowing we couldn't bring it back.

The hotel was very nice, great location right across from the train station. A four star at a 3 start price. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very good after our long trip. We didn't realise that the lights turned on using our door key card and it was written in small lettering on the room card -not easy to orientate and read after an 18 hour journey..but soon rectified.
Out towel rail/radiator in the bathroom never worked, which was a shame, and we did mention it on arrival.
These are minor problems..butthe hotel should be made aware of them for other clients.benefit.These problems did not detract from our stay too much.
Antique Figure is a lovely hotel and we would definitely stay there again,
Francesca the receptionist is very hard working and helpful.She was our main contact. All of the other staff are friendly and seem happy , which is good.
I will defintely use World.by again..I looked at Expedia.com but they can't define the kind of room you can book and we wanted a canal view!

Would have been good to have coffee made for us from a gaggia machine rather than from a self service machine. Italy has such a reputation for good coffee -self serve seems a shame, especially at a nearly 4 star level. All too common in hotels in Italy.

Items which we had not taken from the mini bar had been added to our bill. This was rectified immediately and without question on check out.
Our bags were put into a safe room for us and we were treated courteously and efficiently.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent for cruising and sightseeing.
When you give directions to the hotel, tell the next people which way to walk from the piazzale roma. We had to ask several times since we went over towards the park area. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience to stay at this hotel.

The hotel's location is near the beginning of the #1 Vaporreto and you can get on and get the front seat if you go to that stop. It was nice to be able to sightsee the Grand Canal from the front of the boat picking out all the sights.

I asked the manager to change my room for another floor ,(as a sugestion from the receptionist)because there where some noises on the street and I was prontily attended. Very good .

A lovely and friendly hotel. Directions almost unnecessary as you can see the hotel on exiting from the station - it is just opposite. Lovely room with balconies overlooking the canal. Very clean and comfortable. Delightful little bar and lounge area and good location. 2 minutes from waterbus stop and not too far for walking to main sights. A lovely stay.
