This was not our first visit to Venice. The Antico Doge is perfect Venice: atmosphere, location, quality and value. Certainly my wife and I will stay no where else.

I would recommend giving directions from the Ca D'Oro Vaporetti stop - it was very easy to find the hotel from here and I think it would be better to give a more detailed map of a smaller area. The receptionist was always very polite and helpful throughout my stay. ... The room was quite lovely and I am recommending the hotel to any one who is interested in going to Venice. My one comment, and this is not meant at all in a derogatory manner, is that the ensuite bath/shower/toilet was very small and it was akward getting into and out of the bath/shower as the glass screen was restricted by being only c 4 inches away from the wash basin. You could not therefore move this easily away. It would be better to have a folding screen in this instance. ... Again excellent service from the hotel, allowing me to leave my bags there for the whole day of leaving until I left for the bus station in the early evening. ... It would be useful to state how very easy the hotel is to find and how well placed to explore the whole of the main islands. ... A lovely hotel which perfectly fits in with the beauty of this wonderful place - for a single traveller, the best I have ever yet stayed in.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. ... We had a wonderful room with a big balcony over the canal. It was much more beautiful and spacious than we imagined. ... I will definitely go back to this hotel again. ... Wonderful, warm, and friendly. Good breakfast. Everything you would want from an old Venetian Palace.

Staff were very helpful, we had a problem with the shower in our bathroom, it was repaired within hours. Excellent service. ... none ... Very ornate and very clean and spacious Hotel accomodation right in the heart of Venice!

We saved 10% by paying in cash! ... The free trip to Murano organised by the hotel took us direct to a glass making factory. Although the tour was very good, we found the salesman rather forceful. We left without purchasing and were glad we did so when we discovered the same items for sale elsewhere in Murano considerably cheaper!

The reception staff were extremely helpful and offered excellent advice and information. ... The hotel was beautifully decorated and the rooms were clean and comfortable and well appointed. My only reservation is that the 'courtyard view' of one of the junior suites booked looked out onto a derelict space and was very unattractive and disappointing in view of the cost of the room. ... Again, the staff were very helpful, recommending that a water taxi be booked in advance. ... Only that the 'courtyard view' is not what one might expect from that description. ... A beautiful hotel with a romantic history, in a lively and picturesque location.

This was a charming hotel with a lot of character. All of the staff were very helpful. Great location on a side canal and away from all of the tourists in San Marco Square. Air conditioned, very comfortable, good price...no complaints.
... The person was very unorganized and slow. I think he was new. ... I would definitley recommend this hotel for the price, location, charm, and hospitality.

Was offered better, but we decided what we had was better for us. ... Th photography dosen't do the positioning or quality justice... ... THey even organised a Taxi which was prompt. Very good touch. ... Quiet, and very friendly. ... Worth Every Penny, but still a pricey Hotel. One for special weekends. Great time, perfect location.

No. ... Typical Venetien hotel and comfort. Nice room and polite staff. Old but well-serviced building not far from Canale Grande on a public place with vivid life.

The 'canal view' had to be imagined, unless one was willing to lean right out of the window but, otherwise, the hotel was of excellent quality and all the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. ... Expensive - as everywhere in Venice, unfortunately - but a well situated hotel with excellent facilities and staff.

The sleeping loft was presented as a positive feature, however the steep steps were a challenge for midnight bathroom visits.

It would be nice if the asked us how our trip was and maybe a little refreshment on the house to welcome us. ... Our suite Falier was a bit cold at night. We turned the heat up but it did not work, evenso throughout the day.
In the morning, we could not shower properly, because there was no hot water left. We were not pleased with us, considering the money we paid for this room!!!!! However, the staff told us to 'just wait half an hour', but we made plans for the morning and there's also breakfast to get to. We found the bathroom small in general, not suitable for such a suite/price! ... Positive: We had the feeling we went back in time, in our own palazzo. But with modern day comfort.
Negative: we asked the receptionist for to recommend us a nice bar for aperitivo and good pizza restaurant. We walked all the way to where she pointed out. When we arrived, we couldnot believe she sent us there. Terrible, terrible places, we did not even try, it looked so bad. Then we had to find something ourselves. We think you have to get a list of nice places for visitors to recommend and also look at the people that are asking for it (young, old, trendy etc.)
... Beautiful hotel, beautiful location in an beautiful city.

We arrived about 11pm as our flight was delayed and the airline had lost our luggage. We asked at reception if there was anywhere near to eat and were told no and that the hotel doors closed at 11.30 pm. We found somewhere around the corner selling pizza and red wine and brought it back to the hotel. We later discovered that although the doors closed reception was manned all night and access was available by ringing the bell. Apart from that other reception staff were very helpful in tracking our luggage.
