Profile |
The origins of Ca' Pier date back to the 14th century, when the late gothic-byzantine style building was the opulent dwelling of the noble Family Bembo, amongst the most powerful and wealthiest families ruling the Most Serene Republic of Venice. However, written accounts speak of the building from 1600 and onwards; after an amazing work of restoration, the property was turned into a bed & breakfast and opened for guests in 2005. |
The Venetian residence placed on Bembo street, close to Rialto bridge and the Ca` d`Oro, offers a particular experience of hospitality: the dwelling is conceived to be rented on an exclusive-basis, to preserve at most the privacy of the guest. The purpose of the owners was to recreate the hospitality must have been in the past in Europe: it began as a way to the multiple, fancy needs of the nobles and of the wealthy, exotic, romantic Merchants of Venice when travelling. As a consequence, at Ca' Pier it is the guest who decides which needs are to be satisfied. |
