The gentleman on reception at the time had difficulty in finding our names on his list and had to ask someone else to look. ... We thought the Ca'Bauta Guest House was excellent although we did experience some television noise from above room 201 on 2 occasions. ... THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL ABOUT KEEPING OUR LUGGAGE UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY> ... No ... A small friendly, beautifully furnished guest house in a residential area of Venice which most tourists would not get to see.

After following the directions we found ourselves at a very ordinary front aspect of this hotel. Up the stairs and knocked on the large wooden front doors which clicked open and took us into the splendour of Ca' Bauta. The staircase, reception area and bedroom were like another world. ... An enjoyable two night stay in Venice.

We had to walk more than the time stated in the website, and the address was accurate until we had to walk from the Ospedale stop because we didn't know in what direction to do so. Other than this we were greeted very well and we loved Ca Bauta. ... We will recommend all of our friends the Ca Bauta Guest House. We had a wonderful time, the property is brand new, spotless clean, with a great staff, at walking distance from the most beautiful landmarks while being in a real venetian neighborhood...My fiance and I won't hesitate of chosing Ca Bauta for our next stay in Venice! ... Everything went just fine! ... I would include better directions ... Ca Bauta is an inn as lovely as Venice

We arrived very late at night. The hotel sent someone out to help us find our way to the hotel. ... The breakfast on the first two days included a selection of fresh fruit and yoghourts but for the last 3-days there was only cereal to eat. ... The hotel staff arranged & booked our train tickets from Venice to Florence as well as a water taxi to the train station. ... The water taxi from the hotel to the train station was very expensive E55. The hotel could have told us of the price or negotiated a fixed price before we made the booking. ... A quiet hotel within a period building in a quiet residential area. Beautiful rooms and furnishings but lacking atmosphere at night as there is no bar or restaurant. You will need to be prepared to walk some distances to get to the main tourist areas in the day or to the bars and restaurants in the evening.

Elisabeth could not have been more helpful. We even decided to upgrade one of our rooms and she was quite accomodating. ... The pictures on the web site pictured quite well the rooms. We were very pleased that everything was as we expected. It does not necessarily work out that way expecially when one books on line. ... We ended up paying more as we upgraded one of our rooms to a suite. Everything in Venice is extremely expensive, especially accomodations. I believe we could have paid a lot more and not had nearly as nice a place to stay. ... An interesting fact is that it is on the second floor only of a palace built in the 14th century. All of the rooms are completely newly remodeled including the bathrooms so it is very new with wonderful wood beamed ceilings which were easily 18' tall. Marble floors. The only negative is that there was no elevator or lift and if one has a lot of luggage as we did it was difficult to get to the second floor. They were though very helpful. Location was great and in a very quite area. ... A beautiful bed and breakfast with a delightful staff to see to every need. The rooms were well appointed with lovely furnishings. The bathrooms were modern in everyway and are as they appear in the website photos. We would love to go back if not just to visit with the staff! There are no views to speak of but it is located in a very quiet area of Venice and within easy walking distance of San Marco and the Rialto Bridge if you don't get lost! Unavoidable but fun!

It would have been nice to have a drink after the journey or to know that there was a little coffee shop about 1 minute more walk. ... I have recommended it already to some friends and would again. It is a little out of the way but once you find your bearings it is a wonderful place to see real venice with real venitians at work and play. The hotel was so quiet and tranquil it was a real getaway from it all place.

Getting into Venice was difficult and expensive. We ended up taking public transportation which was just as easy and much less expensive. It wasn't clear that this was just as easy and saved over 90 euros ... One of the rooms in our party could have been cleaner. However it's an exceptional property with much history. Soap products and towels were below average and it took all day to change the towels. ... Good value as we had a discounted rate due to August. The breakfasts were very average. We had better ones in more basic hotels. We were surprised on our last day when someone in our party was confronted with a 50 euro bill for an iron mark on a blanket. It was excessive and the blanket was not in good condition to begin with....cigarette burns and pilling. This was not good customer service. ... I would describe it as a beautiful small lodging but the poor customer service left us with bad feelings at the end. You may quote my review only if you quote it in it's entirety...as Doris from Montreal

The on line map for this property is dead wrong and should be corrected. ... The breakfast was terrible for the price we paid for the room! Cheap breakfast and overly expensive accomodations; I won't be back. ... Great location, very quiet, and nice rooms, but terrible breakfasts and it's obscenely expensive.

The receptionist named Elena was wonderful our entire visit. Friendly, helpful, personable, and she spoke excellent English. ... Unfortunately the rooms we stayed in were not very clean--hair and dirt and dust on the floors. Also, we understood that the rooms would be larger. Only one person could fit in the bathroom at a time, yet we had 6 in our family and were led to believe it would be great. It was fine, but not great. ... Upon checkout we told the manager that in two of the rooms we had encountered problems with what we thought were mosquitoes (that happens), but it turned out to be bed bugs/ mites!! Not only were they not apologetic, but they essentially blamed us for not mentioning it. We again explained that we had thought it was mosquitoes, but to no avail--we were given no compensation, no apology, nothing!! Needless to say we were quite disappointed upon departure. Too bad Elena was not there during our departure, for I know she would have handled things better.

It was indicated in de directions that the aliguna costs 10 euro, but that was for the whole trip around Venice. To the Novo, it was just 5 euro , so we spend to much (4x5 euro) ... the only problem were the steps, it was not indicated in the voucher and a armrest in the hall would be helpfull for elderly and disable persons. little problem: we made a reservation for four persons in a quatro, but we had to ask for more waterglasses, towels and pillows. ... There was no possibility to use the toilet after check out time, but the staff was so kind to let us use a bathroom and to clean it again, before our departure. Thanks. Left lugage between check out and departure was put in the lounge, this was not a nice view for new guests ... floor

The 'included' breakfast was dire. No service of any kind. Just a small selection of plastic packets of rolls and biscuits, and the worst coffee in Italy, left all morning in a thermos flask. At the price charged, a far better breakfast should have been provided, particularly good coffee freshly made. We had to go out to breakfast every day to have decent coffee and juice. They should invest in an espresso machine and have someone on duty to make it for guests. ... A good location, and well appointed, but overpriced, useless breakfast and with almost no facilities. For example, the room TV receives only Italian programmes. Foreign guests expect a TV in their room to be able to get BBC and/or CNN, as is normal in far cheaper places all over the world.
