A short stroll from St Mark’s Square is Ca' del Dose, on the Riva degli Schiavoni, the best place for a walk to enjoy the sight of the city to the full. The building is clearly an early twentieth century construction in typical Venetian style on the site of a previous seventeenth century edifice. The present building, constructed in pressed granite, has an attractive Venetian layout, with interiors whose restoration was concluded in January 2002.

The bedrooms, designed to the last detail, are a pleasure for the visitor to stay in and revive memories of an ancient Venice whose presence feels very near indeed. The glasses of the lamps are made according to the Muranese system of “da scavo” glass, the ceiling lamps and handrail of the staircase are in “art-decò” after the early 20th century restoration.
