This lodging is awesome! I highly recommend. I was concerned that we would be too far from the main square but it actually works out great. Very close to the waterstop. We bought a boat ticket to cover 72 hours and it came every 5-10 minutes and we were at the Venice high traffic tourist areas within 5-10 minutes. The boat ticket even covered taking us to Murano and Burano islands! My father has stayed Near Rialto bidge and St. Mark's square before and he said these rooms were much nicer, bigger, and less money. Paulo, the owner and staff are tops! Very helpful with ideas, directions, restaurants, etc. The rooms are exactly as referenced in the photos and sparkling clean!

If you want to stay in a more quiet tourist areason Venice island, this is the place. I have heard people talk about the noise that heard from hotel rooms in the busy tourist areas. This area was more of where the Italians lived but still had ample grocery stores, fish markets, bars, cafes and less expensive shops. Was a win win as far as I am concerned.

My family and I traveled from Atlanta to Milan (10 hour flight) and then took a train for 3 hours from Milan to Venice, so we were all EXHAUSTED after the long day. We were all SUPER excited to find Ca'Dogaressa along the beautiful canal and we could not have been happier with our accomodations in Venice!

Our stay in Venice was absolutely FANTASTIC! All 6 of us agreed that Venice was our favorite stop during our trek through Italy, and I believe a lot of that is due to the kindness of Paulo and Daniele at Ca'Dogaressa. The junior suite rooms with the canal views were unbeatable!

Paulo and Daniele were wonderful with check-out for us. We didn't have a train out of Venice until the late afternoon, so they allowed us to stay as long as we needed and keep our luggage downstairs once we checked out.

There were two things we all very much enjoyed during our stay in Venice. First, the tables out front along the canal. It was wonderful to have a reserved place to sit right along the canal where we could enjoy breakfast in the morning and wine in the late afternoons. There are not a lot of places where you can sit in Venice without having to order food/drink in a restaurant, so we all very much enjoyed this convenience. The other thing we are all still talking about is Paulo and Daniele. Both of them could not do enough for us during our stay. They went out of their way at every possible moment to make sure we were taken care of and happy. We thank them for that!

We will HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone we know going to Venice! We would not stay anywhere else if we ever get the chance to return to Venice in the future!

Ca Dogaressa was easy to find, just off the main pedestrian route and a short walk from the train station - a boon to tourists dragging heavy suitcases!

We were delighted with the quality and charm of our room - it was better than the photos on the website. The room and ensuite were the nicest we experienced during three weeks in Italy.

Our checkout was straightforward and hassle-free. As our train was not leaving until 8pm we were allowed to leave our bags at reception. Ca Dogaressa was also very considerate by providing a bathroom and shower so we could freshen up before catching our train.

Beware leaving the windows open on a warm night - the mosquitoes were voracious.

Ca Dogaressa was charming. It was quiet and comfortable and perfectly located in Venice - close to the train station and major traghetto stops and simple to find in a city where it is easy to become lost. I would definitely return to Ca Dogaressa.

The canal side location is a definite selling ppoint and the proximity to the vaporetta stops is also a bonus.

My daughter & I traveled thru Europe for 2 weeks & Ca'Dogaressa was our favorite hotel! Paolo was most gracious, the location on the canal wonderful & the room more than we envisioned.

Unfortunately, the Euro was gaining on the US Dollar during our travels, but our stay at Ca'Dogaressa was worth it.

Everything was fine, the hotel was easy to find (once we worked out which way the property numbers went)and the welcome was very friendly. They remembered it was our anniversary and the arrangements I had made as a surprise for my wife (wine and chocolates)were carried out very well

Everything was excellent. The room was of a very high standrd, the facilties were very good and the breakfasts were basic but absolutely fine. The staff were always very friendly and accomodating.
The location was really good too, nice and quiet, very easy to get to from the airport and with a real taste of local life right on your doorstep. It was wonderful to sit by the canal each morning having breakfast and watching the world go by as only it can in Venice.

Make more of the location, it's really quiet but only a few minutes on foot or water bus from the Grand Canal.

I would highly recommend it - we had a suite for 3 nights and it really was a great room which made our stay even more special and all for around £50 a person per night. Plus the air con was an absolute Godsend in the middle of July!

May want to mention that the entrance is not on the front but rather on the side. The front door is old, locked and boarded up. At first glance you think it is closed.

Friendly, quaint, great view, very clean, wonderful pasteries and cappuccinos. Take the regular bus to Venice from the airport then take the waterbus to the station close to the hotel. I forget, but I think it is Guigio.

We had the family suite. It's not as bright gold/green as in the picture. Really nice.
I wanted to meet 'real' people, not be in the tourist trap area. I loved drinking coffee in the morning by the canal and watching the delivery boats go by! I saw the beer delivery people, fruit, paper supplies, etc. Really cool. Hop on a water taxi and 10 minutes later you can be back in totally crowded, hot and sweaty venice. I loved leaving it behind for a quieter area. There was still great shopping and laundry not far at all. Walking distance and I'm not a big walker!

I loved this - I look out the window one morning and see the owner at the breakfast tables by the canal. He is taking one piece of silverware at a time, holding it up to the sun, inspecting it and placing it so gently back in place. When he was done he looked at the table, then the sun over his shoulder and then back at the table. Apparently something bothered him. He then picked up the whole table and moved it a couple feet over into the shade. He's great - a complete riot.

Loved the owner - reminded me of my dad. very protective of us 'girls'. Within the 1'st 5 minutes of looking at the map he had our route mapped out and gave the advice 'gypsy bad, you stay away from'! Some believe they steal (I couldn't say) and beg (that I can vouch for). We took his advice.

I think it should be mentioned that it´s possible to take the Alilaguna boat directly from the Marco Polo airport to the Guglie stop, only 3 min´s easy walk (with no stairs) to Ca´Dogaressa. Timetable can be found at: www.alilaguna.it

A very nice room and pleasant staff.
I´ve only one suggestion: It woould have been nice with a bath curtain around the bath tub. Then it would have been possible to take a bath without making the whole floor completely wet.

It was a breath of fresh air from the corporate hoels that are impersonal and treat customers as a nuisance to be tolerated. Ca'dogaressa was excellent

The hotel was excellent and just what we wanted given that going to a new city with no recommendations of friends to refer to.
