The palace is located along one of Venice's most famous streets, which leads from the Santa Lucia train station to the Ponte di Rialto. Here, overlooking the Strada Nuova, stands the Ca' Gottardi between the Vendramin Calergi palace, today the home of the Casiṇ Municipale, where Richard Wagner died in 1883, and Ca' d'Oro, the most splendid example of gothic architecture in Venice, and today the home of an important art collection.
