From the Santa Lucia train station or the Piazzale Roma: Ca' Gottardi can be quickly reached from the train station and Piazzale Roma (Car Terminal) by taking water bus no. 1, at the Ca' D'Oro stop. From the water bus stop the hotel is only a one-minute walk. Coming out of the Strada Nuova, turn left and cross the San Felice bridge, where you will reach a second bridge: to your left you will find the entrance to the Ca' Gottardi. You can also take a water taxi. We recommend taking only licensed taxis which can be recognized by the yellow stripe along the side of the boat and a number, and to agree upon a fare prior to boarding. On foot: you can also walk from the train station to Ca' Gottardi, which is a charming walk past the shops and only takes about 15 minutes. If you have little luggage to carry over the bridges, it is a nice introduction to Venice in the day time.
From the Venice Marco Polo Airport: Take the Alilaguna shuttle service from the airport to St. Mark's Square or Fondamente Nuove, and continue on foot from there. It is preferable to get off at the Fondamenta Nuove stop, as it is easier to reach the Ca' Gottardi from there. You can also take the shuttle bus service (ACTV or ATVO) to Piazzale Roma and then take waterbus no. 1 to the Ca' D'Oro stop, and then proceed on foot as described above. |
