The accomodation was excellant. The staff were most accomodating and helpful at all times, especially with directions to the various 'places to see etc.'

The quality,comfort and decor of the accomodation was very good.
The only negative point I would make, and it is a very small negative, was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities and an iron in our suite. In Ireland, a 4 Star rating would have these.

The glory of Venice was reflected in Ca' Gottardi insofar as the exterior of the hotel completely belied the quality of the accomodation inside. It was excellant and played a major part in our total enjoyment of Venice.

This was a wonderful hotel. The furnishings were beautiful yet the atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were very helpful. We would recommend this hotel highly to our friends.

It would have been nice to have a seating area for guests that was not right in front of the reception desk, but this was not a major complaint.

The rooms were very nice but very small. However, it did not bother me.
I was disturbed that we could not make outside calls. We were forced to use a pay telephone to make calls to the United States. Unless this changes, we will not be able to stay at this hotel next year.

Advise that long distance calls are not available even with credit card.

Deliteful and charming. Good location, clean rooms; friendly staff; overall great experience unless you have to make overseas call. To make credit call overseas call you might have to stand in the cold rain.

Clear directions and the hotel was easily accessable. Lovely trip down the Grand Canal to the nearest vaporetto stop to the hotel which started our holiday off beautifully. Staff were expecting us, polite and very helpful.

The owner welcomed us warmly and personally showed us to our room. He shows you to your room as if you are the first guest to ever stay there. He has a very kind and genuine manner. All of the staff actually seem to take pride in their hotel.

Staying at Ca' Gottardi was wonderful. It has a very charming family feel about the hotel and the staff was very hospitable and helpful. The photographs on the Veniceby.com website were wonderful - completely accurate and up-to-date which not only helped us choose this hotel but also to recognize it and find it quickly when we arrived. Completely positive experience staying here.

The details of Ca' Gottardi are perfect - I couldn't change anything. Some optional notes you could add: How to Reach Us - we walked from the train station to Ca' Gottardi when we arrived without taking a water bus or taxi at all. It was a charming walk past the shops and only took about 15 minutes. If you have little luggage to carry over the bridges, it is a nice introduction to Venice in the day time.
Additionally, you may mention in the description that the hotel can arrange a free one-way boat/shuttle service to Murano that takes you to Marco Polo glass factory and allows you to spend the day shopping in Murano.

A little jewel. Ca’ Gottardi – a flawless mix of modern with the very classic old Venetian style. Quite charming and romantic. Great for young people.. it has stairs but no elevator. It is fairly small with only about 10 rooms...cozy! Very wonderful helpful family staff working there. Beautiful lobby / breakfast area with views of the canal and huge Murano glass chandeliers. Fantastic location in Strada Nuova.. we walked there from the train station and loved the nearness to the Traghetto to Rialto market! Beautiful room & bathroom! Our room looked out onto a canal that goes through to the grand canal so we had a nice relaxing view of boat 'traffic'. Very home-y. Our room had 2 huge windows, but some of the others didn’t have as many as ours.. so our only advice there would be about requesting a room with windows. We miss it already.

This was, without a doubt, the loveliest hotel I have encountered. The common area is beautiful and the bedroom is elegant. It is obvious that the Costantini family planned this hotel down to the smallest detail and installed their property with the highest quality materials. It is a classic Venitian showplace. The installation of contemporary paintings is a perfect counterpoint to the Venetian surroundings and enhances its beauty. The modern, stylish bathroom is immaculate and fantastic hot water and excellent water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was delicious and the smell of fresh pastries was welcome and a lovely way to start the day. The staff is friendly and helpful, offering good advice when asked. Although we had some late night arrivals back at the hotel, a ring of the doorbell gained fast access. The hotel also had very good security and, although located on a main street, I always felt secure. This hotel and the Costantini family are wonderful and made this first trip to Venice truly special.

We had a very delightful stay, and would
certainly want to go back to Ca'Gottardi.
It was perfectly situated for us, and was
extremely comfortable. The only point I
would make regarding directions is to alert
visitors to the very discrete entrance - its
quite easy to miss the sign which hangs over
the water, and then wander on! and the
actual doorway has no obvious signage.

thought this hotel represented excellent
value for money.

regal main room that overlooks the canal and
the Strada Nova, proved a wonderful way to

This is a quiet, elegant small hotel, away
from the main tourist sites but ideally
placed to get the best of the bustle and the
local interest. Its also very close to the
Ca D'Oro waterbus stop, which we used
contantly with our 3 day passes.

Not your problem but the private vaporetto dropped us off at the wrong hotel.

No elevator. This is listed on the web but it is not stated that the hotel is located one flight up. This will be a problem for those persons challenged by stairs.

Very friendly staff, any information that you needed they would go out of there way to get it. The hotel is also idealy located, very clean, breakfast is great, they make fresh expresso capuccinos when you ask for it, that's one of the great things about staying in a small hotel, you feel very pampered in a very family type environment. Stay there, you'll love it...

The night porter was extremely helpful. We were having difficulties with our river taxi and he went to sort out the issue for us, which he did successfully.

The hotel is so clean and all the facilities seem to be brand new and first rate e.g. the bathroom appliances were amazing. Lovely part of town too. They take great care to ensure everything's just so.

We were slightly surprised not to be staying in the actual hotel but were taken down a slightly tatty side street to a front door which didn't look very promising. It was only when we saw our room that we felt comfortable. It might be worth saying that the hotel comprises a couple of buildings so people are not concerned when not actually accomodated in the main hotel.

I would say it was extremely clean and neat, with the best shower I've ever experienced. The room was of a 4 star standard but in a 3 star hotel. It had a lot of character too and was in a great location.

We had a room in the annex across the street from the main hotel. The room was excellent but it would have been better if we had been informed that we were staying in the annex prior to arriving.

The hotel was very central, an ideal location for sightseeing. It was very clean and spacious. the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was ideally located near the vaparetto stop, this was important as we had an early morning flight to catch and didn't have too far to walk.

Very friendly, willing to please. The room that i stayed in was not one of the pictures shown but was very nice and clean get shower didn't want to get out. Breakfast was great.

recommendation: to get to the hotel cheapest possible take a shuttle bus from Marco Polo airport and then the vaporetto number 1 to Ca d'oro.

Rooms were good, but much smaller that they looked on the website. And then we had windows towards a wall:-(
The hotel has a very good location on a nice shoppingstreet, not far from center(if you don't get lost) and close to the railway station if you want to travel to some other place as we did (Verona).
