my daughter and I arrived later than expected at La Campanile due to the bad weather, we were wet and cold, and we were extremely grateful of the warm welcome received

Both my daughter and I will recommend to our friends who wish to visit Venice that the Al Campaniel is very good accommodation for a short stay in Venice, I intend to go again perhaps next year, and will definately use the same accommodation, it is pretty central to all facilities, ie water bus and water taxis also within easy walking distance to St Marks and the Rialto Bridge,

Extremely professional, and as our flight wasn't till late afternoon, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, while we did some last minute sight seeing before our flight back to England

When i say fairly clear for the directions, this is more of a problem with the layout of venice itself. It is very confusing if you've never been before!
Unfortunately there was nobody in when we arrived which was worrying as it was around midninght, but eventualy another guest arrived and called the owner and someone came to let us in.

Aside from the problem when we arrived, the accomodation was outstanding and the staff extremely helpful.

Maybe a map, as in venice, numbers of houses are not organised by streets but rather go round whole areas - is very confusing. Also the B&B does not have a sign, so unless you know exacly where it is it is fairly difficult to spot.

Firstly, i would highly recommend it. Maybe describe it as affordable, yet very confortable with very friendly staff. The ownre, Marco, was very polite and helpful and spoke fantastic english. A very enjoyable stay!

We have stayed in Venice before, in a hotel from your website, & I can only say that although the other was nice enough (& more expensive), we were treated better at Al Campaniel & made to feel that we mattered, right from the start of our stay.

I do not feel the photographs did the hotel justice. They make the rooms look a lot smaller & sparcer than what they are. We were surprised when we actually seen our room at how large & well decorated it was.

I think you should emphasis the quality of the service provided at Al Campaniel & just how friendly & helpful they are.

The hotel was more than we expected. Marco, who owns Al Campaniel, was very friendly & helpful. He was always around when you needed him & made you feel important.
The rooms were a bigger than they looked on the website & very tastefully decorated. They were very clean & comfortable & it was nice to sit at the window & listen to the locals go by.
The hotel was quiet but not far from some decent restaurants & bars where you could relax in the evening.
Breakfast at the hotel was lovely with nice food & everyone feeling at ease & talking about the day they had planned.
I would, & have already, recommend this hotel as we had such a lovely time there. And when we return to Venice, we will not be looking for any other accommodation.

Perfect location at the right price. The room was more than adequate and had an ensuite. As a hint it is cheaper to have the room without the ensuite, as there are only two rooms to share the common facilities [and we were two couples!]

Sehr günstig gelegenes Hotel, tadelloser Zustand und geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Sehr private Atmosphäre. Gemütlicher Frühstücksraum und übliches italienisches Frühstück (sehr guter Kaffee!). Insgesamt äußerst positiver Eindruck. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis 'venezianisch' bis grenzwertig (dafür kann das Hotel nichts, Venedig ist nicht billig...). Beim nächsten Aufenthalt wieder.

The breakfast was acceptable but I would have preferred something more substantial than cake and croissant in the room.
Not really a problem though as the room was excellent value and there was plenty of food to be had near to Al Campaniel.

An excellent bed and breakfast in a superb and quiet location which was brillant for exploring the whole of Venice - the Dorsoduoro, San Toma, San Frari, San Marco Piazza are all in easy walking distance.
The staff at Al Campaniel speak excellent English are most helpful and keep a very clean house. We were allowed a key and it felt more like having an appartment for a few days than staying in a guest house.
If you are on a tight budget but want a high quality place to stay I recommend Al Campaniel.

Directions were confusing and incomplete due to which I along with my wife, son and luggage experienced unnecessary trouble of asking guidance from the shop keepers and passres by and faced tiredness and wasted time. Otherwise, the receptionist was polite and helpful and accommodation was fine.

There was no indication or signboard of AL CAMPANIEL at the start or at the end of the street. Even at the front of the door it was not clear whether it is a private house or a public guest house/B&B. There was of course a small piece of paper stick to the inside door, typed on computer in small font, saying AL CAMPANIEL and its address.

About windows, balconies, curtains, table & pedestal lamps, ceiling fan, wardrobe, chairs, blankets, how many rooms altogether, how old is the building, who are the owners or who runs it. Particularly about the shutters of the windows to inform the guests that when these are completely shut, nobody knows whether it is day or night-morning or evening outside.

Everything was more than great!!
Maybe, it would be good if you can inform the tourist about the extra cost of taking the vapporetto whith luggage!! It surprised us a lot...

The bedroom is just like the photos published in the web, so we were really happy with the room. Moreover, Marco (the owner) was really kind to us.

We left Venezia at 6pm, but we could leave our luggage in the hotel during the last day without any cost. We are gratefull because of that.

I have already had!!! Some friends are thinking about visiting Venezia, and I strongly recommended Al Campaniel to stay at. It is quite and clean, and the bedroom and bathroom are really spacious. What´s more, being so near to the great canal helps the tourist to visit all the island!!

The gentleman who ran the property was wonderful to us. He helped us by informing of about a waterboat strike and providing us with directions for reaching the train station on foot since there was no other available means of transportation except for water taxis. He went above and beyond the 'call of duty'. The property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend it very highly to anyone who wishes to stay in Venice. The location was also easily accessible from the waterboats.

Marco was very helpful with tips on where to eat. Also recommended that it would be faster for us to walk to the train station than to take a vaporetto, since it would only take us 10 minutes. He was correct about that.
We had a room that was not facing the street side, and it was very nice and quiet.

the website did not have pictures of the room or the spacious bathroom. compared to other bed & breakfasts I stayed at in italy, it was very nice.
we needed an addt'l day at the last minute and the concierge helped us find an alternate location. he was very helpful.

The only thing we didn´t expect that way was
the breakfast. This were packed single
serving cakes and teabags or coffeepowder to
make your tea or coffee on your own in your
room. But as it was a very good price for
the room it was ok.

We were able to leave our luggage there for
the whole day, though they didn´t have much
space for it. That was very nice...

It´s a small and very clean, newly renovated
bed and breakfast hotel. Everyone was
friendly and helpful. We slept very well
because the beds were comfortable and it was
very silent. The hotel is located in a
favourable street in Venice with only a one
minute walk to the next 'ship-stop'. We were
able to walk to every place we wanted to
visit and were surrounded by wonderful
restaurants and cafes. Only minus:
breakfast. But as it was so cheap to stay
there I would tell a friend to forget
breakfast and go to a nice cafe instead.

Even if the address seems clear it's not easy to find our way in venice ! For Campaniel B&B fortunately there is a chocolate shop in front. That kind of detail can be helpfull.

It would be the best stay if the breakfast can be a little bit various for example with venitian pastries rather than croissant and bread every day. The staff is very kind and helpfull. Decoration make feel good. Rooms are very cosy. We really appreciate to have tea and coffee and fridge in the room.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel was a great value and located in a nice part of town away from the tourist crowds. The room was clean and comfortable. Marco provided a wonderful breakfast and was helpful answering questions about the area.

Our flight back was very late. And we could let our baggage there untill 5 pm.After our tour at the day, we came back at 5 pm to the B&B and the receptionist was there, to let us in. We took our things und left.
It was no problem and the receptionist was very kind.

Everything is clean. It is quiet and easy to find the B&B. From there you are in 5 min. in the city and in other parts of the town. And the price is good.
( In August 2003 my daughter and son visit this B&B and because of their comment, we went to Al Campaniel, too.)

If we had really known where we were going, we would have initially known that we would need to change trains to arrive exactly into Venice. This did create a little anxiety on arrival. Also if we had been given further inforamtion concerning water taxi/bus, we could have avoided intially high price to get exactly where we needed to go, our return trip to train station was much easier once we knew what we were doing.

When we arrived with the shuttle-bus of
Ryan Air at Piazzale Roma, at first it has
been difficult to find the right way to walk
to Campaniel. They directed all the people
to the vaporetto. But when we had found it,
it was really a short way.( 10-15 minutes )

The house ist well situated. You can walk
to all important point of views. Piazza
Margherita with restaurants and bars is not
far ( 5 minutes to walk ).
