Travellers Reviews

As mentioned by many on the website, this wonderful hotel is difficult to find the first time. The directions provided by the hotel were good, but since our water taxi driver (#239) didn't bother to call the hotel for directions, we came from the wrong direction. ... This is truly an excellent hotel with good facilities and a very charming, caring and competent staff. ... The staff booked us a porter to transport luggage to the maritime terminal. This service is well worth the cost for people who travel well, but not lightly. ... The junior suite in which we stayed has what the hotel modestly describes as a 'small balcony.' It was lovely with room for two overlooking a canel with singing gondoliers and happy passengers whom we could hear with the windows open, but whose voices did not disturb sleep with the windows closed. ... A friendly, romantic hotel with superb staff in an old building with all modern conveniences (air con, safe, refrigerator, TV, good water pressure and high standards of cleanliness) that provides the best of Venice, a relative bargain for a city where one can easily pay 500 Euros a night for a drab, viewless room in a hotel with haughty staff. It's our choice for future Venice visits.

We had no problems at all finding the hotel with the directions printed on the site. The man who checked us in was extremely friendly and even helped us find train times to Verona for the following day. ... The room was small but had absolutely everything that we needed. The bed was comfortable, the area was quiet, and everything was spotlessly clean. It's also right in the middle of everything and we really enjoyed being only a few minutes walk from both Ponte di Rialto and Piazza San Marco. ... Clean, friendly staff, cozy, and very close to everything.

There was no indication made by anyone that we would be staying in the annex which did not seem as nice. I would have liked to have this spelled out to me when I purchased the room online. Nevertheless the breakfast was good and it was located at the annex so that was nice.
The room, however, was supposed to eb non-smoking but it reaked of smoke in the bathroom. ... The safe in the room also did not work.

Navigating in Venice is difficult in general. Once we found the location, we were provided a map with its exact location on it, and we never had difficulty finding it again.
... This is literally a steal for the price you get. The room was better than I expected and made my stay in Venice outstanding. ... This was a great place to stay. I am very glad that I chose Residenza Ca' San Marco for my stay in Venice and would surely do so again on my return trip.

Like all things in Venice - it was overpriced and poor quality.
