I was a bit concerned that this was only a three star hotel but the Hotel de Bruno felt like a 4 star hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and caring. The morning breakfast was delightful. The rooms were much larger than I expected. And there was a lovely common area sitting area outside of our room that we enjoyed.

I would stay there again and recommend the hotel to all.

Could have been hard to find in the small streets of Venice but luckily we hit on it at the first attempt.
Nice compact reception area and a 'homely' feel to the hotel - much preferred to the corporate feel of some larger hotels.

Perfectly positioned in Venice, refurbished, nice clean room, welcoming environment. Very good breakfast, good variety. Pleasant personnel. I would stay there again at my next travel to Venice.

Some drawers would have been useful for clothes. The wardrobe was big enough to have shelves which would have sufficed.

Even though there was no lift and I was prepared to carry both my luggage and my wife's luggage, the concierge helped with my wife's heavy suitcase. I was very appreciative.

The only negative of the stay was that the air conditioning was not turned on yet. It was cool at night so I guess this is why it was not turned on. We opened the windows, but this let mosquitoes and street noise in. This minor problem set aside, it was great. Perfect location and very helpful staff at the front desk.

Hotel da Bruno is the perfect location for a Venice stay. It is only a few minutes to walk to the Rialto bridge or San Marco's. It is also right next door to the best gelateria in Italy -- huge portions for very low price. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had, and even chatted about basketball with us.

The glass of orange juice was very welcome! Also the receptionist spoke English, which should not be taken for granted.

Room was noisy as there was building work on the main street which started at 07.45 am - this was obviously beyond the control of the hotel. Also the children playing in the room above were noisy as the ceiling/floor must be thin, but they stopped making the noise after I had spoken to them.
As usual in Italy, the staff were quiet, polite, helpful and efficient.

Being in Venice, it is recommended to bring luggage on wheels, as you will be carrying it/wheeling it a lot in the streets as there are no cars/buses/taxis!
May seem obvious to those who are familiar with Venice, but is part of its uniqueness!

Very easy and because we had a late flight reception offered to look after our luggage until the afternoon enabling us to explore more of the city without the hassle of our luggage. This was really appreciated.

The Hotel Da Bruno is ideally situated as a base to explore Venice on foot. We were able to return to our room for a rest and a freshen up.
The room was clean and decorated very nicely. The bathroom was functionaly with an excellant shower.

Ce qui est bien, c'est que lors du check out le matin à 11h, on a pu laisser les bagages à la réception pour la fin de journée. Etant donné que notre avion était à 20h et le check out à 11h, ça nous a permis de nous balader librement, sans bagage le reste de la journée.

L'hôtel est très bien situé, entre le Rialto et la Place St Marc. Le staff est agréable et accueillant. Les prix sont en accord avec le sevice offert, et la position de l'hôtel dans venise. A recommander.

There was nothing special about the arrival. There was no welcome drink, even a bottle of water. And we didn't get any help or information package about the city.

It was agreed that the guest who has birthday gets a bottle of italian spumante.
The day we arrived I got my birthday, we went to venice to celebrate my birthday.
The spumante was not in the room and they didn't even place it to the room while we were there. At the checking out I had to mention what we agreed on.

We had the room at the top of the hotel (which seamed us the smallest and hottest room), so the first night we didn't sleep well (too hot and noise from the street as we had to open the window to have some fresh air). They didn't propose us a reduction on the price, which we expected.

Re #1: Navigating Venetian streets is rather
challenging to newcomers. First, they are
confusing. Second, rolling luggage is
challenged by the stone streets!

The room was small -- I would have liked more
information on this before I arrived,
although my booking was at the last minute

I think the details of how to get to Rialto Bridge from the airport were excellent, however, a more detailed map of how to reach the hotel from the bridge would be more useful as we found it quite hard to find through all the back streets carrying luggage.
