We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at DD.724. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it is obvious that they take a lot of pride in their hotel. The hotel common areas and rooms are small, but nicely furnished with attention to detail. I would stay at DD.724 again

As mentioned above, the directions to the property were very clear but it's important to keep in mind that it is Venice, which is a very confusing cities. It would have been helpful to have a landmark or warnings about knowing when you've gone too far. The Hotel is down a small alley and they only mention an iron gate of which ther are many and on this particular day the gate was open so we couldn't see it. The Hotel is actually across from a small canal and a little bar called the Corner Bar which I think would have been good to know. The Hotel also has a sign way high up on the building. You wouldn't recognize it right off but if guests know to look for it I think they would have better luck. Everything else upon arrival was fine. We really appreciated the Hotel's information about getting from the Airport to the city and what vaporetto to take. ... DD.724 really is a quaint and quiet hotel. It was an enjoyable stay with really wonderful and helpful staff. According to the information we received, we were in the smallest room just outside the breakfast area and believe it or not, the room was fantastic and quite comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. I would definitely stay there again. ... DD.724 is more like a guest house than a hotel so one shouldn't expect a lot of common space. It is a 'design hotel,' apparently a trendy phenomenon in Venice that includes a small network of hotels and restaurants. It is a nice break (althrough expensive) from the old and the antique of Italy and reminds you that Italy and its people do indeed live beyond the past. Everything is comfortable in the hotel and the staff are attentive to your every need. The small size of the hotel (only 7 rooms) guarantees personal attention.

Unfortunately, the actual room was not as clean and pristine as it looked on the website. The blanket on the bed had dirty marks on it, the flooring looked dusty and old, and generally, the room looked as if it was a few years old, in need of freshening up. The bathroom was perfect however. ... Modern, small, well positioned in Venice, friendly staff, very expensive.
