While the hotel was very conveniently located, it was also a bit tucked away from the busy main streets. Very enjoyable and quiet, but very convenient at the same time. Not a luxury hotel, but very comfortable and met all of our needs.

Everyone was very professional, friendly and helpful. I certainly could find no fault. ... We stayed in the 'Annex'. When we were first told that our room would not be in the main hotel, we were concerned. However, we found our room in the Annex to be very satisfactory and, probably quieter than if we had been in the hotel itself.
The location was excellent and just what we had wanted. ... We were completely satisfied with all aspects of our accomodations and our stay in Venice.
I will recommend the hotel and your service to others. ... No ... I don't know about the room in the actual hotel, but the room we had in the annex was more than adequate. It was clean, quiet, comfortable bed and excellent bathroom-toilet facilities. I was completely satisfied and would reccomend Hotel Do Pozzi to my friends.

Very pleased with service. ... No, was exactly as described. Location of annexe, where we stayed, not so pleasant location, however accommodation was good. ... Comfortable, and friendly. Nice to come back to at the end of a busy day.

The staff, who spoke good English, were very welcoming and helpful. We felt that we had made a good choice. ... We were a little apprehensive, having read after we had booked, that the rooms were small and the bathrooms tiny. We were given a bedroom quite adequate for our needs and a bathroom which had modern equipment and enough space for a bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room compared with some we have had on previous visits. ... The hotel was excellent value for money, though I suspect that immediately after carnival had ended we probably had a good deal. ... The nearest water taxi stop from the airport is Giglio; but the hotel is near enough to walk from the Alilugna stop if cases are not too heavy. ... We would certainly go there again; it is a good central location for visiting Venice.

The location was excellent and all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for Italy and was very clean and well kept. The hotel had a lot of Old World charm and the courtyard was a beutifully relaxing place to start and end the day.We ate in the restaurant (Raphael) on our first night and the meal was one of the best we had in Italy. By the way, we spent eleven days in Venice, Rome and Sorrento and these guys made the bast cup of coffe anywhere.Highly recommended.

... I would recommend the hotel and certainly check availability for future stays in Venice. ... The staff were very helpful regarding our luggage. We did not fly back to Bristol until late evening, so the hotel held our luggage for us. ... Friendly, centrally situated and comfortable.

Don't recall any directions to the property. Basically went to location and asked & people knew where hotel was. Thus gave the question a low rating: the directions may be good but I didn't get them.
... Hotel is in a quiet cul-de-sac about 100 yards off the main street. This is an ideal location as one is close to the main street but just off of it.
All rooms were very clean and comfortable. The owner had antique guns and stuff displayed in panels throughout the hotel. Breakfast was good. ... Very nice old-fashioned hotel filled with a lot of antiques.

Our travelling companions'room was very noisy through the night. Room 41 ... Not happy about the hotel charging in pounds and doing the exchange rate for us. Our room, number 93 in the annex, was clean and nicely decorated and complete with air conditioning. The breakfast area was charming and we enjoyed the whole fruit that was offered at breakfast. ... I overheard the hotel staff describing to another guest that they offer a tour to the Murano Glass Factory on Saturday. This is something that might have influenced the dates of our stay had we known this was complimentary. We checked out on Friday and therefore were unable to take this trip.

VERY EFFICIENT - GIVEN THE OPTION OF PAYING IN EUROS OR STERLING ON CREDIT CARD ... Do watch the prices in the restaurant. the 10% discount is very appealing, but we found a delightful restaurant round the corner where the service and food was virtually identical, we were given strawberry bellinis gratis on entering and the bill was cheaper. ... Everything was perfect. The receptionist was very friendly, polite and helpful, and made us feel at home as soon as we came through the door.Other staff eg chamber maids, porter, waitresses were also exceptionally pleasant and friendly. ... We had already stayed there and liked it so much that we wanted to come back.It was lovely having breakfast on the sunny terrace and the position is quiet but so convenient for all the main sights of Venice ... Giorgio booked us a water taxi and made sure our departure was as smooth and easy as possible. ... Positive: the staff did us a favour by letting us leave our luggage in the hotel - not only after we had checked out to go on a cruise, but also on our return a week later. We had several hours to spend in Venice before our flights home.We recognise that this was a really special favour because my mother is 88 and we could not carry our bags around Venice all day - but we very much appreciated this kindness. Thank you,Do Pozzi! ... Lovely, quiet, relaxing atmosphere but efficiently-run and very central location.Friendly staff make you feel like you're coming home - we'd never go anywhere else in Venice!

The Reception staff were most helpful at all times. ... Our room was smaller than expected although very clean and with the facilities stated. ... The staff were very helpful and efficient whilst checking out, and also with making arrangements for a water taxi to take us to the airport. ... The lack of a lounge disappointed us. Because we were in Venice when it rained almost non-stop for 4 days, we would liked to have had coffee or a drink in a lounge, but there were no facilities for either. ... Clean, friendly and efficient, and close to all the amenities, but the lack of a lounge would probably prevent us going back to Hotel do Pozzi, especially as our room was too small to sit in.

Wonderful place...wonderful stay. ... Location is fantastic...close enough to the action but quiet enough to enjoy your time spent in the room. ... Be sure to watch for the Hotel Do Pozzi signs as you get off at San. Maria di Giglio. The hotel is not located on the main street, but down a short pathway. ... I would definitely stay there again. The location is excellent and the staff was very nice and helpful. The decor is charming, old world Italian -- clean and rather simple. This hotel was a real find in expensive and busy Venice! It was right in the desirable tourist just a 2 minute's walk from Piazza San Marco but was hidden away in a charming little courtyard mere steps from the elegant shops on the lively street and was very quiet and peaceful. As we were the first guests to arrive that day, we were given a choice between two rooms -- both were very nice but one was just recently remodelled and was simply fantastic (spacious, clean, very nicely decoraded, with a spacious bathroom that had a jacuzzi). During my stay, I found the breakfast staff to be very friendly, making a foreigner in their country feel welcomed and comfortable. Most days I would attempt to use my very poor Italian - they would always 'play along' and encourage me - it was great fun! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. ... I have also stayed at the Bisanzio and the Flora hotels and their front desk people are more helpful and warmer in general than those at DoPozzi. It's okay, and I don't really mind, but they're very cold, and instead of giving you exact directions somewhere, they'll just hand you a map silently. It's almost like you're a bother if you have a question. ... I stayed at Do Pozzi once before, but in the annex building, where the rooms are much nicer--bigger, modern with a nice bathroom. My room this time was in the main building and it was tiny, dingy, and very noisy. the only window about 9 feet up so I couldn't see out. The worst aspect was the miniscule bathroom. The 'shower' was so small you couldn't really move in it. and the tv volume was broken and too loud. but it was pretty clean and inexpensive. ... The room that we were put in orginally was the size of a shoe box. We then were moved to another room, which was a little better. For the amount of money that we were paying a night I was quite dissapointed.. We could not open any windows as we were facing a wall and there was not tub in the rooms. ... Not big rooms, and no windows to open.

Reception staff were most unwelcoming - we appeared to be an interruption to their day. ... On the whole reception staff were strangely unfriendly and were reluctant to give information about directions, restaurants etc. There was one exception (late eventing Sept 14) who was extremely pleasant, informative and helpful, giving (without us asking) very useful and good advice about our departure. Chambermaids and waitresses were all very nice. The food and drinks at breakfast, however, were poor quality, particularly by Italian standards. Although the room was small (fairly usual in Venice), the air conditioning was very good (not noisy) and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. We liked the decor of the public spaces - plenty of interesting paintings and prints. Given the quality of all but one of the reception staff, however, we would not return to the Do Pozzi - we go for the Biennale every two years and, often, in non- Biennale years also. The impression most reception staff gave was that they'd never see us again and just couldn't be bothered - and one was just unpleasant. The only time they seemed able to give us any but passing attention was when we came to pay. ... We had left our bags at the hotel during the day and when we returned to collect them the receptionist just pointed us towards the room in which they were kept, barely acknowledging our presence. He did not say goodbye, although we did. ... Unfriendly, good situation, quite nice accommodation but there are plenty better for the same money or less in Venice. Don't go.

Staff were very helpful. ... Although the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained, we wold not stay there again. The rooms were extremely small and there was a lot of noise from outside. The staff, with the exception of Ines the breakfast waitress, were remote and distant. They provided help when asked, but were not at all interested as to whether we were enjoying our stay or not.Our main concern was that there was no sitting area in the hotel - the courtyard was not used by any residents and was not a comfortable area in which to sit. Given that our room was extremely small, this was a problem. ... There was no interest from the staff as to whether we had enjoyed our stay or not - they did not even say goodbye. once we had paid our bill they lost interest in us ... The rooms are small. The courtyard is in a dead-end, and is not much used by anyone. ... Smaller than described, expensive with very limited facilities.

an altogether lovely experience. I hope to stay there again. The only inconvenience was no newspapers in the lobby and you had to go to Hotel Ala tio check email--and they charged non-hotel guests for the service. hotel do pozzi should provide this service for people who do not have computers with them to use in their rooms. ... quiet, friendly, great location, charming outside breakfast area with a superior breakfast.

Clean, quiet, private :yes. Spacious: no. No drawer space; we had to keep some of our belongings in our cases; only one chair in the room; little room to move. ... We had a problem with handling luggage as my friend had cracked a rib; staff v. helpful. ... No electric socket available. It is IMPORTANT that this be stated on the website. I was given a v. unlikely explanation for this. Discovered from an aquaintance that the same applied in another hotel of this group. ... Very good location, pleasant staff.

I suggest that you advise potential clients to ask for rooms overlooking the courtyard, as the rooms which overlook the street can be quite noisy. Otherwise a really nice little hotel. ... As above re room choice ... a beautiful little hotel conveniently located with modern facilities.

We had stayed at the Hotel Do Pozzi previously (1994) so we knew the hotel. Re quality of the room: last time we were in a large room as we had our children with us; it must have been in the back as it was very quiet. This time we had a room that was right on the street and very noisy until quite late. Otherwise the quality of the room was excellent. ... no ... nice small hotel, great location, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, quite expensive

The first room was fine. The second room was not. The air conditioning did not work, and the staff said that they would send someone to fix it. Nobody arrived. I requested a room in the main Hotel building in an e-mail to the Hotel. We were given a room in the annex where we were bitten by mosquitoes every night in APRIL! I checked with other people on the flight home and no one had seen, heard or been bitten by mosquitoes in their hotels. The room was very small, when the door was opened, it hit the bed. ... I was very disappointed with the bedroom. I accept that a room in the main building was not confirmed by the hotel before we travelled but since I specifically asked for this, I feel it should have been given. I would not use this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. ... As I did not see the bedrooms in the main building, I cannot compare them with those in the annex but they could not be smaller! ... Bad value for money. The presence of mosquitoes in the room in April was outrageous, we came to the conclusion that they were breeding in the internal air system. I did not make any of these complaints to the hotel management, I felt it would be to no avail.

I was appalled by what a tiny room I got for the very high price. I understand that such is the market, but you could have stated in what an (expensive) area (San Marco) this hotel is situated so that I could have decided beforehand that I'd better go in another area. I also was not pleased that I did not get any help with my television - I wanted to have changed the Satellite offer - which I thought could be provided when paying such a price. ... Area: main shopping area, very close to San Marco, therefore extremely expensive compared to the room you get. (TINY). Also no garden, which could well be installed. Hotel Flora in the same street has a beautiful one. ... Don't go there. Venice is beautiful everywhere and I am sure you can have a more idyllic place for less money.
