the owner was friendly and helpful. However breakfast was late and for Northern European standards you wouldn't call it luxurious. The house maid was extremely unfriendly and couldn't have cared less for our well being.
But the rooms were perfectly furnished and the location was great as well. ... Gorgeous.

The directions to the hotel where one checks in were very confusing. Especially at night when most of the shops are closed and it's dark. ... This was a wonderful place. Centrally located and quiet. The air conditioning worked great which was very helpful during the heat wave they were experiening. The breakfast were great and we loved the central gathering area. Having only one set a keys was a real problem for us. There were four of us and we had to stay together all the time or risk being locked out. ... Elegant and quiet with great breakfasts.

It ist very easy to navigate. A very good feature is, that you inform other than the requestet location. That's why we stayed in Palazzo Duodo, because the requested Hotel was complete. ... Very good possibility to inform about venice. It wood be great to have some more informations about restaurants etc. and it would also be helpfull, when you place the restaurants in a map. ... very easy, very comfortable ... it is a typical venetian House, placed in the center of the city and absolutely lovely

The check-in was at the hotel Centura(?) The hotel is down an alley and the strre was not well marked. ... The room was great. We had four people in our group and the rooms was like having two bedrooms versus one big room. That was great. The continental breakfast was GREAT. The best continental breakfast that we got on our trip throughout Italy. ... THe location was very good. Very central to St. Mark Square and the Rialto Bridge. ... Classy, nicely decorated. We loved the apartment and the location. Also breakfast very satisfactory.
Small points would be it would be nice to have champagne or wine glasses available in the room. Also water pressure was not great but given age and location we could overlook this. ... Very appreciative of being able to have breakfast at Hotel Centauro because of our early departure time. Loved the outlook of that dining room! ... No, website very comprehensive. ... Very venetian. Very authentic. Terrific location, very quiet and private, would be fantastic for three couples.

It was really very hard to find Hotel Centauro. 45 minutes walking through Venice with our luggage. Hidden in a very, very small street and no hint on Manin Square. And also if you ask somebody, nobody knows this hotel.
After a very good description from the receptionist we found Palazzo Duodo - also in a small street without any hint - a little bit easier. but even in the restaurant below, nobody knows it. ... Nice rooms and furniture. Very small bathroom, rooms a little bit dark. Good climatisation. Nice ambiente, but a little bit isolated, for example no person to talk to, except in the morning, if you need glasses or a bottle opener. Terrible music every morning during breakfast. Only sweet bread, good for me, but nothing to eat for my wife except yoghourt and fruits ... The owner was very polite, but we met him only at the day of check out. ... A better description to find the way ... Fantastic situated: Very near to every important places in Venice but private and quiet. Clean and comfortable, but a little bit to expensive, concerning value for money. No person you can ask something.
Personal in the morning very unfriendly.

Very helpful service. A staff member walked us to the Bed & Breakfast location which was about 200 meters from the check-in location at the hotel. Staff members at the hotel desk were always ready to assist us in finding restaurants, the opera, museums, the train station, etc.. The owner, Andrea, is especially helpful and concerned that his guests are comfortable and happy. ... The location is perfect, inbetween San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge, on a quiet street. It is easy to get to the major attractons by foot, yet you are away from the crowds. We heard only lovely church bells from our room. The breakfast is very civilized, white tablecloth and china every morning and excellent service from the hostess. ... Very speedy. No problems. ... The owner is a real gem. He bends over backwards for his guests. ... Charming B&B on a quiet side street with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, more than adequate continental breakfast, excellent maid/breakfast service and very helpful staff. You are close to the action by foot, but in a quiet location.

After a long journey from Los Angeles, the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. They provided us with a lot of helpful information about Venice. ... We spent 3 weeks in Europe and Palazzo Duodo was our favorite, it's very quaint. The location was perfect, so close to all the sights. The room was beautiful as was everything else. The breaskfast was great also! ... Once again, the staff was very accomodating by letting us store our bags for the day and letting us use their facilities before departing at the end of the day. ... None ... We would recommend Palazzo Duodo to anyone traveling to Venice!! We liked how quaint and cozy it was, yet the rooms were very spacious, even for American standards! It was beautfully decorated and you really get the feel of Venice! The location was perfect because it is close walking distance to everything you would want to see. We were so glad we chose Palazzo Duodo instead of a larger hotel. It has all the amenities you need plus a lot of charm! It was the first stop on our honeymoon and our favorite!

Hotel staffat the Hotel Centauro polite and very good about giving u good directions to the Palazzo. ... Accommodations were gorgeous and in a very convenient location to Piazza San Marco. The breakfasts were delicious (especially with the freshly made croissants) and very enjoyable inour elegant surroundings. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others. ... Extremely elegant and private. A wonderful, romantic way to enjoy Venice and have a unique experience. You felt like you were living in a very palatial private residence. Location was perfect for Piazza San Marco and accessing the vaporetto. Having breakfast served in a lovely dining room enhanced the stay even further.

We arrived at Palazzo Duodo in a rainstorm and found it heavenly when we walked in. The public sitting room was beautiful and our room (the green room) was large, beautiful and romantic. We tremendously enjoyed this room and higly recommend it. Our honeymoon trip found us in Rome, Florence and Venice and Palazzo Duodo was by far our most romantic room. It would be helpful for the receptionist, if they would make copies for the way from Hotel Centauto to Palazzo Duodo.
We will come again to Palazzo Duodo. ... We come again Palazzo Duodo ... no ... Very nice place, very clean, very good location only 5 minutes to St. Marcus Square. You fell as in another century 18th. Very nice.

The directions took us to Campo Danile Manin suqare where we expected the hotel to be. After spending a few minutes wandering round the area, a shopkeeper showed us that the hotel was down a very small street. After our holiday, we realised how the numbering of houses worked and that would have helped us find the hotel. ... We loved our stay at the Palazzo and are telling our friends. We hope to return there. ... Directions to the hotel from Camp Danile Manin square. ... Very central, spacious, interesting traditional furniture, excellent value for money

Great facility, excellent location and very accomodating staff. ... It would be very helpfull if the hotel was able to accept credit cards. Checking out was by cash only, which was stated in the agreement. Traveling with a large amount of cash is inconvenient and dangerous. Please make credit card payment available. ... The location is ideal. A few minutes one way to St. Mark's, a few minutes the other direction to Rialto. ... Convenient location and typical Venetian style lodging. Very private and ideal for a family because of the twin bed in the second room. Lovely breakfast.

We weren't clear about how to get to the hotel to pick up the keys. The gentleman staffing that day took numerous calls from me to explain and even stepped out of the office to make sure we found the hotel to pick up the keys. Excellent customer service! ... The rooms are more spacious than they appear in the website pictures. ... See about better pictures that can show the space. Also include the white room second bedroom picture. ... Great for families or people travelling together. Spacious, quiet, good breakfast and customer oriented staff.

The water pressure was extremely low. So low that it was for instance impossible to wash ones hair or even to take a regular shower (do not even think about a bath !)
Considering the rather high price of the place and the otherwise perfect services offered by Palazzo Duodo, I think that it would be reasonable to install a device that would increase the pressure (such devices exist... they are called 'surpressors' I believe) ... A nice place (actually a suite) located very near San Marco. There are three large suites on the same floor (the fourth) that share a common 'family room' as well as a dining room (which is actually only used for breakfasts). The green suite -- where we stayed -- is furnished with antiques has a view on a small and quiet canal. The whole place makes you feel that you are the owner of a cosy appartment located in an old palace of Venezia.

Arriving at dusk and not finding the calle that The Centauro is on made things very difficult. The signage is so minimal - and nobody we asked (except finally one kind man) had any knowledge of the Centuro! The phones require cards- therefore calling was also a frustration. the Duodo is wonderful - but there again - on a narrow calle that bears better marking. Using a Chinese restaurant as a landmark does not realy work in Italy - as it appeared not to have Chinese food! It was very hard to be dragging (wheeled) suitcases up and down the street- then to arrive and discover a short set of stairs awaited us BEFORE we could get on the elevator. Once there - it was WONDERFUL, but travelers need to have much more information in advance. ... We were very pleased with the room and the ambience. Breakfast in the charming dining room was delightful. Meeting congenial people from all over the world made an excellent beginning to each day. ... Please re-read the comments made previously. DIRECTIONS - specific and clear are of the utmost importance to travel weary visitors. Landmarks/ statues/ stores or cafes would be very useful to reassure visitors you are in the right place - and then HOW TO LOOK for the Hotel Centauron are truly important details. ... quiet, elegant, off the beaten path, yet in the heart of it all, with great furnishings and delicious breakfasts. the 'GreenSuite' had a lovely canal view.

It took me 90 minutes to find Hotel Centauro so I could check in. That was frustrating! Check in was positive and the directions Roberto gave to the B&B enabled us to get there with no trouble at all. ... A quiet and enjoyable B&B with a nice air of grandeur. It was possible to relax there and still feel you were in a special place. I shall return! ... Venice is expensive and the B&B represented fair value for money in that context. ... I would provide a map. Venice is complicated when you first arrive and are trying to get around dragging your luggage. That was stressful and a detailed map would have helped a lot. Other guests there at the time also commented on that. ... A little touch of affordable luxury in a very expensive city, the B&B gives a glimpse of life as it might have been in centuries past but with all the modern conveniences that make for a pleasant stay. I shall return!
