We received a very warm welcome ... We loved the warm and friendly family atmosphere and found the staff incredibly helpful in every way ... Some rooms (ours was one) have a view of the facade of San Zaccharia and its campanile. Breath-taking. ... Charming, simple but very comfortabe, a welcoming and friendly place we would certainly go back to again and tell our friends to stay there.

We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Fontana. The room was spacious with a wonderful view. We always felt welcome. The location was better than we had anticipated. Just a short walk to San Marco square and only 1 block to an internet point location...we stayed in contact with family via email. ... The friendliness of the staff, the location to San Marco square and ease of reaching the bus stop (only 1 block from the hotel) were bonuses. ... The location was really very close to almost everything either by foot or by bus. ... I would say the the Hotel Fontana was very friendly and accomodating to us. The location is excellent making it a good value. The Italians in general are a wonderful, warm community who receive Americans with graciousness. Can wait to return.

Needs to have an elevator (lift) installed. ... No. ... A great hotel just a few minutes from St. Mark's Square. Easy to get to from the San Zaccarias vaporetto stop. The staff was very polite and extremely helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay there and had a very clean, spacious room. The hotel is in a perfect location and conveniently located near a vaparetto stop. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. ... I had to depart from the hotel around 8:00 am and didn't realize that nobody would be at the check out desk at that time. Fortunately, as I was just about to leave, somebody arrived around 8:10. ... This is a lovely hotel right in the heart of Venice. Our room was spacious and the bathroom modern and clean.

Gabriele was wonderful. He was polite, jovial, and helpful with our many questions about the area and activities. He quickly accomodated us and we were settled and comfortable in minutes. ... The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I also felt very safe there with my family because there was always someone at the front desk and the front door was always locked so that entry of any individual was monitored. ... I accidently left my plane tickets in a hotel in Florence. Gabriele worked relentlessly on the phone to try to get a courier service to send it to us, and to organize it with the staff from the hotel in Florence. The courier did not retreive the tickets as promised, and he spent countless hours again on the phone the next day. It was nice to have such a caring and kind person who go so involved with my children and me to see to our enjoyment with our trip to Venice. ... I actually got the name of this hotel from Rick Steve's travel book and made the reservations through your company. I do feel that the personalized service was well beyond my expectations and the location in St. Marco's was perfect. It was the nicest area of Venice as far as we could tell. ... I have mentioned that when I am traveling with my family, I will always look for a hotel with a small, personalized staff because I fell safe and it was especially beneficial in a foreign country. Gabriele speaks English very well, so that was also helpful. I like that the facility is small with fewer than 20 rooms, and it was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was good, too.

Dear worldby.com,
Our stay at Hotel Fontana was absolutely delightful. It was well situated, the staff professional and polite and the room appropriate for our means.
My husband and I appreciate your quick response to our needs and will certainly use your services again and will recommend you to our family and friends when they visit Venice.
We enjoyed Venice immensly and plan on returning next year.
Thank you for your time and effort in making Venice an enjoyable stay for us both!
Cheers!

The staff made our checkout easy for we had a very early departure the next morning. ...
Hotel Fontana is so centrally located that it was easy and safe for us to walk to even though our arrival by water taxi to Venice was around 1 am in the morning. The San Zaccharia water taxi dock is ideal for a smooth transition to the hotel by foot. ... Cenrally located, quick access to great restaurants, wine bars and tourist attractions, quiet at night, clean and comfortable rooms.

great location, safe area, clean room, very helpful staff (we liked that it was family run), nice breakfast included ... the building itself has an interesting history -- I think it was once a religious order. The area around it has a nice character and places to eat as well. ... Super location for staying in Venice. We just wished Venice and its hotels weren't so expensive compared to other places in Europe!

The directions are slightly wrong. The distance from the vapperetto to turning right is incorrect. ... I used your website, which I found very informative and easy to navigate, to choose a hotel in Venice. The 2 star hotel Fontana was very well situated and the staff were extremly helpful, however I did have one problem. In your 'frequently asked questions' on this hotel, you state that it has three floors and a lift. However the hotel actually has four floors and no lift. This was important to us as my wife has mobility problems and found the stairs extremely difficult. You may wish to alter your details so that others in our position do not make a choice unsuitable to their needs. I would, however, commend the staff at the hotel who did everything possible to help in difficult circumstances. ... Apart from my comments above, none. ... Friendly and comfortable.

Air conditioning was not effective enough for hot days in August. Hair dryers in the room would be nice.
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Front desk staff was very nice at check-in and helpful throughout the stay, though at times a little impatient when giving directions. ... I'm not sure if you mentioned there is no elevator? ... Great location in Venice, though if traveling during summer, don't expect rooms to be cool. Also, be prepared to walk up and down stairs since there is no elevator.

Diego was waiting for me at midnight when I arrived and carried my bags up the stairs for me. Wonderful staff. ... I was upgraded at no additional charge when my knees began to hurt from climbing the stairs. Very helpful and accommodating. ... The vaparetto to the airport was at 8:25 and nobody was on duty who could take my card until 8:30. The breakfast lady took my credit card number and I left. It felt funny, but I was charged exactly as I had agreed. I tried to pay the night before, but again, there was nobody available who knew how to take the credit card. It all ended up just fine, though. ... The annex rooms are wonderful! ... Family owned, less than 5 minutes to St. Mark's square, very caring and concerned staff who made you feel welcome each time you came back after a day out.
