A real plus was the ease of finding the hotel and once their was the ease of moving around town and using the hotel as a base to explore other towns by train.

The Breakfast was very limited - even by continental standards (rather than US or UK).
As it was very cold outside it would have been nice to have had the hotel bar open.

It was very useful that the guys were happy to look after our bags between checkout and our leaving Venice.

A pleasant and centrally located hotel that would be a good base for exploring Venice and surrounding towns. Lacking in 'public areas' so more suited to spring and summer breaks.

We got a water taxi from the airport therefore did not use directions to hotel as taxi driver knew the way.

Our room was very light and spacious. Other people in our party(who I think did not book through yourselves) had much smaller, darker rooms.

Very quiet hotel. Guests are not encouraged to use the bar in the evenings.

Well placed hotel in quieter part of Venice, away from very touristy area of St. Marks. Plenty of places nearby to eat /drink.
Hotel very clean.Our room lovely, but not all were.

Staff was very accomodating. When I requested a different room, I was given one that exceeded my expectations - sun filled, with a view of the Grand Canal and an immpressive chandelier.

Unexpectedly good view of the Grand Canal from some of the rooms. Very conveniently located to the primary modes of transportation in Venice. An sumtuous buffet breakfast is provided - no need to eat until dinner !

The Hotel Gardena is an elegant hotel, providing excellent value for money. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are a good size and very nicely decorated. And I looked forward to breakfast every morning. I will definitely stay again, when next I am in Venice.

Very happy with everything, except we would have liked in-room or dining room facilities to make a cup of tea or coffee whenever we liked.
We enjoyed the balcony view of the canals.
We had expected a more substantial breakfast as we had enquired about the level of breakfast but had misunderstood the comment that 'eggs were included' We interpreted this to mean hot breakfast but this was not the case.
