 The location of Palazzo Grandiben is good respect to the most important monuments, as Piazza San Marco is reachable with a beautiful walk of ten minutes along the Riva degli Schiavoni ( where, by the way, is Vivaldi's church where to attend concerts of his music) or among the internal "calli" rich of interesting and monumental spots such as Ponte dei Greci or S. Maria Formosa.
In this direction you meet many nice old food stores, like bakeries, greengrocer's, butcher's, sea-food , excellent wineries, and small unexpensive restaurants, just close to the apartment, handy and comfortable when you feel tired from visiting.
At the same time the location of Palazzo Grandiben is very suitable to visit the Biennale di Venezia, that is 10 minutes walk away, across the gardens near the Arsenale. In that direction you can reach the area of Garibaldi street, very interesting and typical foreshortening of real common Venetian life, with its nice grocery and wine shops. At the far end of this itinerary, you can discover the ancient church and area of S.Pietro di Castello (cathedral of Venice till the 19th century): decidedly worth a visit, on a fine day! |
