My arrival was excellent. I rated 'Fairly Clear' on directions, because I didn't use the website. I have a friend in Venice that gave me detailed instruction form the airport to the bus and vaporetto and then directions to the hotel. I was late getting in and the hotel had a dinner reservation for me at La Columbina (great restaurant) that they extended.

The rooms, the hotel actually, were very clean. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked (and was not noisy) and the bathrooms were larger than expected.

Excellent. Well worth the value. The location was perfect and the restaurant the hotel recommended was tremendous. All in all it was a very positive experience and I would stay there again if I return to Venice.

Helpful in relation to directions, events, little tips about negotiating the streets of Venice.We have recommended others who have been very happy with their experience.
Breakfasts have improved since 2003. Suggest CNN, BBC channels be included in TV channels

well, we didn't see our room on the picture on the website, so we had something that we didn't expect. It was a small room, but very nice and cosy.

It was actually quite easy to find you, but the instructions were not good. Files and maps did not load after sevearl attempts. Could do to mention that it's actually on the main street!
Also your question 3 is double-barlled. They might have been polite, but not helpful. In fact they were both.

Liked the room, though didn't know it would be split across levels. But this was nice. Slightly odd smell in entry way to room.

Comfortable small hotel with a modern feel to the design. Well-located and with a lovely garden for breakfast. Nice room and excellent shower, etc. Breakfast was minimal, but the shared balcony/terrace with swing-seat more than made up for this.
Would stay here again.

A very nice place as the hotel staffs are very helpful. The hotel is also very clean and the location is good too. Very good value for money. I would certainly stay here again the next time I visit Venice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Locanda Herion. It was very comfortable and peaceful. The rooms were really clean and very spacious. I look forward to staying there again!

The numbering system for the address is a little confusing in that it relates to an area of Venice and not a specific street. We were able to find our way there by asking for some directions, but the location was known to everyone and it took a few attempts before we found someone who could explain things. The hotel could also use a little bigger sign outside as we just about walked by it. I would descibe it as short walk from the train station along Rio Terra Lista di Spagna, across the foot bridge at Canale Di Cannargio and then a short walk along Rio Terra S. Leonardo with the hotel on the south or right side of the street.

We booked a ground floor room adjacent to the breakfast eating area which was a little noisy in the morning, however the room was nice and was what we were expecting as we asked for a basic room at a lower cost.

I would suggest adding to the directions as noted above. It is definatley a short walk to the hotel from the train station and I think easier to find walking then by the water boat for first time visitors. Once you get oriented it is a great location with respect to the main attractions and great value for the location. Everything is within a reasonable walk or short water boat ride.

As noted above, I think it is great value and a great location to be based from. I would highly recommend the location to anyone going there.

The Hotel looks like nothing from the outside but once in the hotel it is very clean,private and comfortable.

We stayed at Carnival time so the accomodation was always going to be at a premier rate anywhere in Venice.Therefore we felt that we had good value at this time and the room was above standard. Venice was very cold during our stay but the hotel and our room was always lovely and warm.

The locanda Herion is located in a busy part of Venice but once in the hotel its quiet and private just what you need after a busy day .There are lots of good resturants nearby and eveything is within easy reach.
The hotel is kept very clean and the room we stayed in was decorated to a high standard in a Venician style. I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel to my freinds and family.

Our rooms were a delight (ensuite with sitting room) spotlessly clean and warm, most important as -6 outside ! Breakfast ample selection of cereals, pastries,cheeses and eggs, plenty to keep you going. Would be lovely in the summer on the garden terrace. Great location, would definitely recommend. Only negative point is on the Website it states there is a bar at the Hotel, this doesn't seem to be the case.

In the apartment room the air conditioner is not inside the bedroom so it was a bit warm, but otherwise enjoyable!

We arrived during heavy rainfall.Quite a walk from the piazza.Had to ask for direction several times on the way.Not easy to spot entrance to hotel.

The accommodation was fine - the room was a bit bare, but clean and pleasant. The bathroom was good. The faq section of the site said all rooms have balconies - only one does. The beautiful terrace/eating area referred to was under reconstruction and not available to us. However, it was adequate and the proprietor, his wife and staff were very friendly and helpful (especially the night receptionist).

per night was nice,comfortable and clean. But we had no nice view at all from either of out 2 windows both on different walls of the room
