The view from our room was spectacular and upon arrival we were delighted to discover we had a small private terrace off our room over-looking the canal!! We think we had the best room in the hotel!

We had a most enjoyable stay. The room was clean, quiet and private, but I would not say it was spacious. However, there was ample room to be comfortable. From the reviews we read on-line and in travel books it was exactly what we expected...and more. The location was superb!! We were very pleased with our entire stay and would definitely return to this hotel.

A small moderately priced boutique style hotel overlooking the Giudecca canal. Excellent location. Pleasant rooms and inviting atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Make sure to ask for a room with a view.

Only comment about the hotel is that the light in the room was not very bright!

So convenient from airport ferry stop on Zattere! ... and so convenient for getting around the island. Excellent!

We loved the location, the room, and the hotel but we were put in a room beside the staff room and there was a lot of noise at all times of day and night.

WE asxked for dinner and though the restaurant was due to close in 5 minutes they took us and very helpful and pleasant.

The room was not large but the view and the balcony more than made up for that. the bathroom was large.

They alerted us the night before we left and we arranged a suitable time. they kept our luggage after we checked out until we were ready to leave the city.They were helpful in arranging our transport to the airport.

Rose Maccaulay a famous writer of the 1930s and 1940s stayed at this hotel. Very convenient to a Vaporetto stop. Immaculately kept. Cool place with great views of the Palladian Church of the Redentore.

Pleasant comfortable place to stay. Easy walking distance to churches and museums. Cool in the heat of summer. Sense of history about the hotel. Near a brilliant ice cream parlour called Nicos. Staff helpful with good English.Safe to walk at night. Recommend to anyone.

Staff very pleasant and helpful, even though highest tide in 10 years had necessitated the removal of all furniture in reception area.

Staff was wonderful and helpful throughout. The view from my room was stunning. The Hotel restaurant and bar was exceptionally good, and it was wonderful to have this restaurant available after a long day of sight seeing.

fray of the center, very civilized. we love
the calcina, have stayed there four
times. the staff is wonderful, the
waitresses from Moldavia efficient and
pleasant. the constant action on the
giudecca canal is fun to watch.

The rooms are quite expensive considering how small they are

The hotel is very well situated, it's lovely to sit outside and take breakfast/other meals with a view to Giudecca and the water. But the rooms are quite small and far from luxurious.

Unfortunately the hotel advised that the best way to get to the hotel was to take a water taxi or alternatively a land taxi to Piazzale Roma and then catch a vaperetto. The first option which we took cost 95 Euros and the second option was costly and impractical because it would have necessitated loading 2 large suitcases onto a crowded vaperretto. We were not told about the public Alilaguna ferry which is designed to move luggage easily and cost only 12 Euros each and which berthed only 100 metres from the hotel. OK the ferry only goes every hour or so but for that saving, around 70 Euros we would have been prepared to wait. Is there some reason why the hotel could not have supplied us with this information and the times at which the ferry departed the airport? We felt we were treated like dupes.

We were aware that the room would be small, but it proved to be more than adequate for our needs and gave the impression of being more spacious than we expected. The en-suite shower room was very well equipped.

we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It was away from the noise and bustle of the main San Marco area, however within easy reach of all parts of the city and close to two vaporetto stops. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with a cosy atmoshere. The staff were helpful, fiendly and polite at all times throughout our stay. The tourist menu available in the restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was simple, but well-cooked and tasty.

The place was very nice. And, in comparison to other hotels in Venice, it was not very expensive. But, as hotel prices in Venice are really unbelievable high, I can only give it a 'fair value'. A room (even that good and clean) ist just not worth € 118 a night.
