Profile |
Hotel San Gallo is located in an area that was also used as a refuge for pilgrims from the Holy Land, and was later turned into a hospice for poor women (who were called the "Orsoline"). |
Evidence of this is shown by the small Church of the Oratorio San Gallo which was reduced to its present size in 1703. The hotel location is perfect thanks to its proximity with the city centre; in fact, St Mark's Square is only 50 metres away, and La Fenice Theatre is only 5 minutes' walk from the Campo. |
