We had a wonderful stay in Venice at the Locanda Al Leon. The accomodations were as described and the staff coulnd't have been more helpful. Thank you for the resource that you provide.
We also stayed at the Pucci Suites while in Florence. They were great! We had such a fantasic room and experience that we extended our stay.

It was a nice little hotel with a friendly and warming atmosphere close to the city centre, the St. Marcus Square was just a few blocks away. The view from our room was excellent. From our window we could watch the daily life in Venice with gondoliers on a small bridge trying to persuade tourists to take a ride on their gondola, stands and restaurants crowded with people. Although there was lots of activity with people outside the hotel during day time and in the evening we had no problems with noise from the street at bed time since at least this part of the city calmed down after 2200. Altogether we were very pleased with our choice of hotel and every Euro spent on that part of our visit was well spent. Also, we were positively surprised since we picked this hotel due to its low price.

We arrived early so could not check into our room immediately but that was no problem.

The hotel looked newly refurbished and the room was spacious and very quiet. It overlooked a piazza from the 3rd floor and the double glasing blocked all noise from the street. We were really impressed by the size and state of the room. The mattress is very firm.

The hotel is centrally located, close to San marco square and within easy access from the vaporetto(water taxi)points. The value is excellent and the hotel has been totally refurbished this year. i can definately recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to explore Venice.

This was a superb experience. We where in Venice 16 years ago, and the accomondation that time wasn`t a nice one. So this time it was a hit. We will recomend this to everyone ho will visit Venice.

Yes, our stay was exceptional, and any questions we had were answered or shown without hesitation..........plus the morning breakfasts were a great way to get the day started for the sight seeing.

The hotel had the invoice ready when we checked out, as well as assistance in handling our extra amount of luggage, and also making arrangements for the water taxi to take us to the airport.........these were done by the hotel, as we really did not know that much about the transportatiion situation in Venice............and I might add that this kind of extra service goes a long way about the personnel of the hotel that is not in any of your literature,again that extra 10%. which makes a successful relationship for the customer.............

No other hotel in the area can offer the friendlyness, the charm, the assistance, the being at home away from home as the Lacanda Al Leon............

We arrived in a blizzard so had a little difficulty locating the hotel, we didn't realise it was so close to the water bus stop. The receptionist was very helpful even though it was quite late in the evening.

Locanda Al Leon is a lovely hotel situated in an ideal location for San Marco. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept very clean.

There was a problem with water leakage in our room, but the hotel staff dealt with it in a very professional manner, and moved us to another room - taking care of our luggage during the move. Very well done. One member of the staff also gave us several good restaurant recommendations - informing us about restaurants and trattoria's away from the tourist route. We used on recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

All aspects of the room and general facilities were excellent.

The fine aspects of an elegant seventeenth century Venetian mansion - with modern plumbing! Everything from lighting fixtures to upholstery and furniture were of finest quality, as true to the peroiod as possible, and in excellent condition. Thru one window was the Doge's Palace; thru another was an old cobblestone street.

We arrived at almost the exact time that we said we would (more by luck than judgement) but the Concierge seemed impressed! Easy to miss the narrow entrance to Calle Albanesi from the Vaporetto stop but only minutes to get to from the next Calle.

My partner and I loved Venice (November a good time to go; fewer day tripping tourists). We will return one day; hope the Leon is still there when we do. The room was exceptionally good and spacious, first class en suite facilities and amazingly quiet for such a central location. We were in the Superior Double room 32.

Friendly staff, clean, well maintained Hotel. Our room seemed to be more 4 star than 2. Very centrally located near to some excellent restaurants and a very welcoming little bar run by women only as far as we could tell. Hotel was very good value for money which surprised me given Venice's reputation for being expensive.

Small but friendly, only 150 metres from St Marks and handy for vaparetto and exploring Castello. We stayed in the separate Dependance Cavenella c 50 metres away which was clean, quiet and reasonably comfortable. Given the location and the facilities the Locanda was excellent value for money and we will stay there again

The room we got on our first night, one of the beds was a child's bed and uncomfortable. To our request we were transferred to another room after one night.

The staff was very nice and friendly, but the lady in the breakfast room was utterly impolite. To be able to keep up with the good service in general she should be replaced. Also things like tea at the breakfast was often finished in the mornings.

After alighting from the waterbus at st Marks Square we went round in a huge circle even with Italian friends and it took us a long time to find the hotel. On arrival we found that the location of the hotel was quite near to where we embarked from the ferry!!! This needs to be made clear to potential clients.

Superb value for money for Venice. If I ever return to Venice I would not hesitate to book this hotel again as it provided an excellent location for a low price. The room was reasonably roomy, clean and tidy. Overal a happy and pleasant stay for a very small price.

Locanda de Leon was wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about it. The proprietor was most welcoming. Our accomodations exceeded our expectations. The hotel has been restored lovingly and with great care. Not only was it clean and comfortable, but beautiful! The breakfast service was very nice and we got great recommendations for dinner. We had a great time at Locanda al Leon. The staff were very helpful. They even let us leave our luggage at the hotel after we'd checked out so we could do a little bit more sightseeing before we left Venice. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the rooms were very comfortable. The location of the hotel was great--close to everything we'd planned on seeing!

It was very easy to located the hotel from our arrival at the Vaporetto stop. We loved the fact that it was a quaint hotel down an sidestreet The directions provided on the Website were excellent and the entire check-in process was very easy. Elvio, was very nice and extremely helpful. He assisted us with our luggage and pointed out all of the room features.

The check-out process went very smoothly. Because I had an early check-out, I arranged to have my bill settled the previous evening. Elvio, again was very helpful and provided me with instructions on how to get to the aiport. When I had to carry my heavy bags to the Vaporetto, Elvio was extremely nice and helped me find a short cut and also assisted with my bags over the bridge.

I arrived late in the afternoon, and left early next morning, so did not have a chance to see much of the hotel. My room was most comfortable and quite spacious, with attractive fittings and a very good bathroom, but without windows. The bed was a double and very comfortable. A message left earlier that day by friends was given to me immediately on arrival. I had to leave early, well before breakfast but the young man on duty helped me with what was available, before the breakfast staff arrived. I had help getting my bag from reception to the room, up very steep stairs on the third floor, which I appreciated greatly, as the luggage was heavy. The bag was also brought down from the room next morning. The reception area, and breakfast area are very small.
I would happily recommend the hotel, and the area is interesting and close to San Marco, vaporetti, and other attractions, such as shops and restaurants. I have stayed previously in that part of Castello, and so knew my way around, but it did take a little time to find the hotel itself. I would have enjoyed a longer stay.
