The Hotel was a little gem. The suite we stayed was comfortable and beyond our expectations.

We were promptly checked out. Baggage was held for us until we left for the Airport. A room was available to us to freshen up before our journey home as we did not leave Venice till early afternoon.

Small 6 room hotel/B&B run by very nice gentlemen who cared about our comfort and helped plan our daily events. The price was a tremendous value for the suite which was very large with small balcony overlooking small quiet canal.

I couldn't say enough good things about this small hotel. The owner was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely concerned with our needs. Unlike many Venetian hotels, Locanda Ca' Le Vele guaranteed upfront that our room would have a canal view. Actually, our room had an entire wall of windows facing the canal AND a lovely terrace that opened up over the water. Simply lovely. Abundant storage for a week's worth of clothes for two people. Spotless, modern bathroom. Breakfast - fresh brioche, breads, cheese, coffee, milk - served in our room each morning. Located very close to the vaporetto. All of this for about $145 LESS per night than a number of comparable hotels I also contacted. I made sure to take extra hotel brochures back to the States for friends who are planning to visit Venice. Overall, a fabulous experience. Can't wait to go back!

We had to check out at 11 am. But our plain was leaving at 8.30 pm. So we still had one day left. The owners of the hotel were so kind to let us leave our luggage there till the evening.

nice bathrooms, not to big but clean and new. The rooms were very beautiful, with view on a little river. But the most important thing: every morning you get your breakfast served on the room!

A beautiful,small, romantic hotel. Breakfast in the room. Friendly owners. It was just a 10 min walk to the Plazza San Marco.

Very recently renovated first floor of a palazzo, run by two extremely friendly and helpful guys. Brilliant location, less than two minutes from a waterbus stop and just five minutes from the Rialto Bridge. Quietly tucked away off a main road that is great for restaurants and shopping. We loved it - and I want a bathroom like the one we had there!

My stay was absolutely devine. My room was very quaint, quiet, great for vacationing in Venice. Your location was right near the Accademia Bridge and Rialto, very convenient. There was even a health spa that you could join for your time spent there. I would come to the Locanda Ca'Le Vele again and again and invite others to stay there as well. Thank you - Locanda Ca'Le Vele for making my stay a fabulous one.

The Locanda Ca'Le Vele is better in person. It is beautiful and very nice. I will come again and have my whole family rent out the bed and breakfast. On a scale from 1-10. I rate your hotel and accommodations a '10'.

Put on the website were the location is once you get to the Venice Airport. Take the Alilaguna to St. Marco Square and then get on the 1 Vaporetto and get off at the CaD'Ora and walk thru the entrance and you all know the rest. I come to Venice a lot so I knew what to do, but other travelers visiting for the first time would not know. This would make it easier.

A home away from home. Clean, artisic, comfortable and convenient. Wonderful. Every accommodation that you would have at home. I felt like I was home, but in a special place (smile).

Our luggage did not arrive with us in our flight from New York. The receptist at the hotel was extremely helpful in tracking the luggage. We did get the luggage the next day. The hotel is one of the best that I have stayed in. The room was elegant and our every need was anticipated. The breakfast, which was served in the room, was excellent. Information about transport and restaurents was readily given. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly stay in this hotel if we visit venice again.

We asked about the transportation to the airport. The hotel suggested the least expensive way. However, at our request,the hotel got us a direct water taxi from the hotel to the airport. It was very convenient.

The walk from the hotel to St. Marks place is one of the most pleasant walks, with several excellent restaurants on the way. Right near the hotel there are two excellent outdoor restaurents.

A very quiet location only 2 short blocks from the Ca d'Oro vaporetto stop. The neighborhood is filled with cafes, bars and small boutiques for convenience.

We arrived in Venice, at the Locanda Ca La Vele following 28 hours of travel. The gentleman was very friendly and showed us to our beautiful suite which opened onto the canal. The accomodation was perfect in every way as was the breakfast delivered to our door each morning. We also found the neighborhood to be perfect for travelers who want more of a typical Venetian feel. Close to everything but away from the tourist crush.
We would stay at the Ca Le Vele again in a heartbeat. Many thanks!!

The hotel is very charming, clean and beyond what I expected. The only thing are the steps leading up to the reception desk. It was difficult carrying up our luggage. I would advise anyone who can't lug heavy objects to ask for a ground floor room.

On the day of departure we discovered a train strike and the men at the desk were very helpful in trying to sort out our travel arrangements.

We were extremely pleased with the Locanda Ca' Le Vele's closeness to the most popular parts of Venice. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, giving us advice with directions and times that things openened etc. And the room, overlooking a pretty and quiet canal, was immaculate, with a cheerful breakfast served to it every morning. The cost was cheaper than I'd expect for it's high standards, especially in the notoriously expensive Venice. I would heartily recommend a stay there, for anyone visiting Venice for the first time.

I had booked a room with balcony, but found it only had two small windows. When I asked about this I was told the word has a different meaning in Italian, and that what I should have asked for for was a terrace. However, we were able to get a better room, with large windows and a good view for just £5 extra a night - very good value.

We very much enjoyed Lacanda Ca' Le Vele. The staff were friendly and spoke English (and also humoured my attempts at Italian!) The location was excellent - just slightly off the beaten track, and our room was lovely. My only moan would be heating - a bit temperamental, and the fact that the shower cubicle was tiny.

Most rooms do not appear to have baths - this should be mentioned as English hotels have them as standard. The difference between a balcony and a terrace should be explained clearly to avoid disappointment.

The shower stall in the bathroom was a bit small. You might also consider using terry cotton towels instead of the flat cotton linen cloths.
Breakfast was excellent!! Warm croissants and rolls and pretty china added a nice touch.

They offered to provide coffee at 5am in the morning when we were checking out. No other hotel in Italy during our stay offered that service.

It would of been better if we had an alarm clock or wake up call service, we had to leave at 3:45AM and we were told by the front desk that he would try to wake us up so we took turns to stay up in order to be at the airport on time but he did call after all.

the place is in the middle of town in a good area close to restaurants, shops and close enough to the Rialto bridge and the San Marcos square in an area with wide streets and not as crowded.
The best part it is only 2 blocks from the vaporeto stop and no bridges to crossto get to the hotel.

One criticism: the breakfast was unimpressive. Tea and coffee were often only lukewarm; too cold for the tea to infuse.
Good point for the tourist trade: service was good and friendly. English was spoken perfectly and that made us feel very guilty that our Italian was virtually non-existant! The room was excellent and the location of the Locanda Ca' Le Vele very good as a centre for sight-seeing.
We would certainly go to there again.

I am so grateful that Robert was hospitable to us. Because of our overnight train's very early arrival to a dark Venice, sirty and tired from traveling, we dragged our luggage to the hotel. Our greatest hope was to be able to store our luggage. We were happily surprised to learn that they we could be accomodated right then, with an earlier checkin. We were able to clean up and rest before we ventured out to see Venice refreshed by Locanda Ca La Vele!

We found our room to be quiet, luxurious, scenic, and useful (especially the towel warmer for little laundered items).

The night manager, a man of possible asian descent, was quite kind to bring in the breakfast to our table and to offer his help with our baggage. He made a courtesy call before he brought in the breakfast, which I appreciated. His manner was completely amiable.

I could not understand why I could not get a double portion of bread served to us for our continental breakfast on the morning before the one that we had to leave too early to be able to get our full breakfast. Despite the fact we arrived reasonably early, there was no trouble and our room was soon made available. Whilst we waited we were allowed to sit in a spare suite.

The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. The breakfasts were repetative and could have been improved with the addition of fruit juices. Pouring fresh brewed coffee out of a milk jug was a novel experience.

A little stress due to an announcement in the lobby stating that they could not take credit cards temporarily. When you have planned to pay by credit card, it is not necessarily easy to get the amount in cash instead, especially on an easter week-end, when banks are closed and unavailable. Eventually, I could pay with my credit card, but I still don't understand what was wrong and why I had to undergo that stress.

Very well located, the area is beautiful, lots of quiet and lovely walks to be taken in the close neighborhood.
The locanda is clean, quiet and lovely, patrons are very well treated, the staff is smiling and welcoming, and you get the services expected.
I would gladly use it again should I come back to Venice.

A Beautiful and grand hotel, I would highly recommend a stay here, then staff are very friendly, and the rooms are tastefully decorated and well cared for. In a fabulous location and close to some of venices must see sights.
Breakfast is basic but standard of the type of accomodation.

We were very pleased with the location and the room. The room was very charming (and clean) and looked just like in the photo, except we had two smaller windows. The man at the front desk was very nice. He asked us what time we wanted breakfast and knocked on our door at that exact time with our breakfast tray. We had a table and chairs in the room. The bathroom was small but very clean. This was our first time in Venice, so it was a bit confusing to find, however we got lucky because we got off of the water taxi very close to our location. We lost our directions from the internet so I am not sure if they would have been a help or not. It is very easy to get lost in venice!!!

Some rooms much bigger than others - our first 2 nights, our room was adequate, but small. We returned for a further 1 night and had a much bigger room for the same price.
