We were amazed by the friendly atmosphere of the hotel, We had only been in Venivce 5 minutes and we were the victim of pickpockets and lost all of our crediut cards and cash but the hotel were abosultely wonderful in helping us in more than was expected. They looked after my family like we were lonfg lost family and I would reccomend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Venice

The central location was perfect for getting around Venice and the staff were more than helpful with information on where to eat and what to see. The owners made our stay in Venice something to remember

We had some further travel questions and needed help. The staff was more than helpful--they went out of their way to help. Also, we asked for a fan as the room was not air conditioned and they provided one.

Both the rooms we stayed in were beautiful,
comfortable and very spacious. The staff were
extremely friendly and helpful, providing
suggestions for places to eat which were of
very good quality and easy to find.

The staff greeted us with smiles and were
always polite, friendly and very helpful. We
asked them for a selection of typical
Venetian restaurants and pizzerias which we
tried and were delighted with the quality of
the food. The rooms were beautiful, spacious
and comfortable, fitted with air-con units to
keep us cool in the July heat (essential for
the British tourist!). The location of the
hotel was ideal. We thoroughly enjoyed our
stay at Hotel Locanda Ai Bareteri and would
definitely stay there again.

The only bad thing was that the toiletries we left in the bathroom (shared with another room but accessible to anyone in the hotel) were removed after the first night. If we stay in the hotel again we would demand a private bathroom.

The breakfast was a little meagre. Cups and glasses were taken away quickly to ensure that no extra coffee/juice could be taken. This was the only negative point as the hotel was everything that was expected.

We received a great welcome from very friendly staff who spoke perfect English and gave us invaluable information and a good, detailed map of Venice. When we asked about reasonably priced places to eat the staff marked the map with their own favourite restaurants which all turned out to be within walking distance and fantastic value.

Room very quiet when windows closed, even though we were on second floor over a walkway. The Continental breakfast was as expected, we were served quickly and offered more tea or coffee.
Guests may want to take their own hairdryers (and adaptor plug).

Before we left, staff gave us more helpful information about the best way to get to the airport. Also, when we asked, we were told the very interesting history of the hotel.

Remember travelling kettles for hot water are not permitted in the bedrooms.

We were two older ladies in Venice for 4 days and found the hotel location excellent. Room basic as expected, but perfect as a base to go sightseeing. Bathroom and bedroom very clean, fresh towels every day. The hotel is newly refurbished and would be suitable for anyone to stay providing you could walk up and down stairs.

The Hotel has no elevator. We had to carry our bags up 2 flights of steep and winding marble steps.

Breakfast was not what we expected. They refused seconds on coffee and rolls.

nice little pensione but I think they should really put fans in the room because if you leave the windows open you can't sleep because of the noise and the mosquitos eat you alive at night if you close the windows then it gets too hot in the room. so definetly fans or air conditioning in the room.

The voucher stated two single beds which is
what we had requested; there was, instead, a
double bed; HOWEVER, they DID bring in a cot
for us at no extra cost; room was air
conditioned, quiet, and very comfortable

We had decided to stay in Venice another day,
and asked if there was any chance of a room
for an extra night; there were no rooms
available, but the people at the hotel very
thoughtfully found us another place, close
by, and with good directions; they were even
willing to walk us over, which we declined;
they were very helpful, anxious to please us,
their customers.

The room was MORE than adequate, particularly
given the location; it was clean, quiet, air
conditioned and the reception was very warm
and helpful, providing info abt restaurants,
answering our questions about various
attractions, and helping us find a room for
another nite; I would recommend them as well
as this site (WorldBy.Com) for locating
hotels when travelling.
