Locanda Matir is located beside Campo Santa Margherita, one of the most beautiful squares in Venice. In this part of Venice live many students and this square is one of the most popular gathering points for young people. Here you can find many wine-bars, typical restaurants and picturesque shops. Piazzale Roma with its car parking is very close to us and the water-bus stop of Cà Rezzonico is few minutes away. |

Coming by plane:
The best way to reach Locanda Matir is to take a private water taxi up to Rio dè Foscari. Then you have only to turn right before Campo Santa Margherita and you will find Locanda Matir.
- A cheaper option is the public road bus service (ACTV or ATVO lines) which connects the airport to the Car Terminal of Piazzale Roma in 20 minutes. Then, you have 10 minutes walking to St. Margherita Square, or the water buses to San Tomà or Ca' Rezzonico (see indications from Car Terminal of Piazzale Roma).
- Other choice is the water shuttle ALILAGUNA, which, through the Venetian lagoon, will bring you directly to St. Mark's Square in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Then with public boat (line 1) you'll get off at at Ca' Rezzonico station (stop 11) or at San Tomà (stop 10). From there with a short walk you will reach St Margherita Square, where we are.
Coming by car:
Reach Venice by highway and then park you car at Piazzale Roma. Once there you can reach Locanda Matir on foot: take "Fondamenta 3 Ponti" and walk along the canal. You will find "Fondamenta Pagan". Cross the bridge that you find oon your right and you will arrive in "Fondamenta del Rio Nuovo". Walk for 100 me and then turn right, criss the bridge and you will arrive in Calle Renier- Campo S. Margherita. Just before the square you will find a sign on the right for Locanda Matir. Turn right and you will find the inn at the end of the street.
Coming by train from Venezia S.Lucia railway station:
You can reach Locanda Matir by private water taxi directly to the inn in 10 minutes or by public water bus (line 1) up to San Tomà (stop 10) or Ca' Rezzonico (stop 11).
How to reach us from San Tomà waterbus stop:
Walk towards "Campo San Tomà", cross it and take "Calle Larga Prima" reaching Campo San Rocco. Turn left onto "Calle de Scalater" , reach "Campo San Pantalon" and then cross the bridge. Just before the square you will find a sign on the right for Locanda Matir. Turn right and you will find the inn at the end of the street.
How to reach us from Cà Rezzonico waterbus stop:
Walk along Fondamenta Rezzonico and the end of it you will find a square. Turn right onto Rio Terrà Canal and then cross the bridge. You will find Campo Santa Margherita. Walk for few metres, turn left, cross the square and before the bridge you will find the sign for Locanda Matir. Turn left and you will find it at the end of the street. |
