I booked only three rooms, needed four. It was no problem to get the forth. The receptionist were very polite.
I calculate my next stay will be also in Hotel Lux.

EARLY,THE ROOM WAS READY - NO PROBLEMS

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE STAYED AT THE
HOTEL LUX, EVERYTHING WAS EVERYTHING WE EXPECTED AND HOPED FOR.
IDEALLY SITUATED NEAR ST MARKS, THE HOTEL
OFFERED EVERYTHING WE NEEDED . WOULD

4 flights of stairs a little challenging, but we were helped with luggage upon arrival. (We did see guests lug up luggage themselves as well however)

Charming quiet little place with great location. Good value. Entrance not very inviting, but you have to look beyond that. Beautiful bathrooms!
Ask for balcony room on the upper floor, right right on the canal. (thee is a reasonable extra charge for those rooms),

A simple small but stylish hotel very well placed near the centre of the city. The room was small but with a lovely terrace which would be a bonus in fine weather. Clean and tidy hotel with friendly staff.

This is an ideal hotel at the centre of Venice, minutes from Piazza San Marco and all points of interest. We could not have hoped to meet a more helpful and friendly staff. We have stayed there before and hopefully will return in the future.

The fourth bed in the 'four bed room' was some sort of a camping folding bed, which was not really a comfortable night for the person who used it.The room was ok,the bath clean.

We were located on the 4th floor and there was no elevator. This was fine for us but we were wondering if that was clear in the materials for other travelers who may have 'step issues.' We would stay there again in a heart beat.

Very convenient to the Doge Palace and St. Mark
's. Quiet and clean. It is a bit scarry when you arrive because it is down a side alley and the sign is rather shabby. But inside, it is just great.

This hotel was wonderful. The location was easy to find, close to a water taxi stop. We were greated warmly. One of the staff helped us with our luggage, since there was no lifts and we were on the fourth floor. We had two rooms both were clean and beautifully decorated. Even though their luggage room was full, they let us store our luggage there after checkout until our train left at 6 PM

This hotel was wonderful. Our room was quiet even though it backed up to a busy side street. We were pleasantly surprised to get a room with a small rooftop deck overlooking the narrow street below, complete with a small table and chairs. I would love to stay there again. The room was not large but beautifully decorated with wood beamed ceilings and fabric wallcovering. The breakfast was very good with fresh croisants, yogart, eggs and cereal, and juice and coffee/tea.

It was better than expected from the facilities - but much smaller I could ever imagine! Like a doll's house. But really nice and we want to come back - but its not recommended for tall people!

The young man who greeted us when we arrived at 10:30PM was very helpful and courteous and helped us carry our luggage up to our room on the 3rd floor.

The room was probably a little bigger than we had expected from some of the descriptions that we read and our experience with other hotel rooms in Europe.

The receptionist was very nice and told us where we could leave our luggage while we were out looking around Venice before going to our cruise ship later that afternoon. After we picked up our luggage and went to our ship we realized after we were at sea that we had left a painting on the landing where we had left our luggage. We emailed them immediately and they said that they had it and would mail it to us after we got home from our cruise.

The hotel is very easy to find - As you walk down Calle della Rasse you'll soon come accross a sign. It's actually about 5 yards down an alley just off Calle della Rasse. We arrived before the check in time and our room wasn't ready yet. The hotel however said that we could leave our suitcases there and had our room ready within the hour.

The room was small but beautifully decorated and furnished in a manner which made it seem large (venetian decor, tapistry, matching bedding, built in wardrobes etc). The bathroom was lovely and surprisingly large. The overall impression was very warm, cosey and romantic, spotlessly clean and quiet. There was not much of a view, but when you spend the whole day out and about this has little importance. The location couldn't have been more central - less than 2 mins to St Marks - which made it ideal for a quick freshen up, and the hotel is open 24h so you don't have to worry about being locked out! The only minor problem we had was that the air con control pad was broken so we couldn't regulate the temperature, oh and something to note, if you open a window the air con automatically switches off! Another little thing, there's no lift (elevator) which apparently is the norm for Venice, so be prepared to work the leg muscles - having said that there are only 3 floors so it's not really an issue.
We would recommend it.

There was some confusion about our booking and I was told that the booking was not guaranteed by my credit card. However, we found a few minutes later that the lady was looking up my First name instead of my Surname.

Very convenient for St. Marks Square. Slightly tired on the outside but very clean and comfortable on the inside. Lots of reasonable restaurants nearby. Very convenient for the water bus for any direction. Excellent value for money for Venice!

Regarding #9 I had booked a Quad room for one evening for my family and I (4 adults) and from the pictures I was expecting a room with 4 twin beds. What we were given was a room with 2 twin beds and 2 roll-in beds. There was no room to walk between the beds. We literally had to climb into them. Hed we not left our luggage in Rome, we would not have been able to move around the room at all.
I was not expecting anything very spacious, but this was rediculously small for 4 adults.

We arrived as a group 13 people and each with a fair amount of luggage. The Hotel has a very small reception area (almost non existent) and the luggage had to remain on the stairs as well as part of the group until we completed the check-in process. However, the hotel staff was very accomodating and it went quickly.

We assumed that the hotel was a little larger and the reception area, breakfast area and bar area was larger. If we wanted to meet as a group we generally had to meet either in a room or outside. However, it was worked out and we all enjoyed our stay.

The small recption area and the flights of stairs that one had to traverse to get to your rooms. There is no elevator and elderly people might have a problem if they are located above the 2nd floor. The small area available for the continental breakfast. The location, however, is excellent and makes up for the lack of amenities.

Our room did not have running water at times during our stay, so we were unable to shower in the morning and had to use bottled water to brush our teeth before going to bed in the evening. We brought this to the attention of the hotel and they were unable to do anything about it.

I would recommend that my friend find another place to stay if possible, unless Hotel Lux was the only available hotel in Venice. the location was decent and the hotel was quiet.
