It's a very nice cozy small hotel and convenient to hop around Venesia. ... The blankets are not available in the room and I forgot to ask for them since when I was in Venesia, it's rain and the weather was relatively cold. ... Very convenient. ... The hotel map and no elevator. ... A nice cozy little hotel at the shopping area and near many interesting places.

It would have helped if I could have had specific directions to the closest landing area by water taxi, which is just a few meters away from the hotel.I could then have given it to the water taxi driver to help him find the place. I got directions from the Rialto bridge, which is further away. Hope that this will help the next visitor. ... I think it is important to let the traveller know how many levels need to be climbed to reach the room. We had to lug our bags several levels before we reached almost the top floor of the building due to lack of elevators.
Also, I was expecting some view for the price we paid but was mostly disappointed that there was none at all. This should be clearly stated on the website. ... I would have liked to see a more substantial breakfast rather than croissants and coffee, for the price. I think the website needs to inform guests that the breakfast is basically, jams, coffee, juices and croissants with a pie. ... Reasonably appointed, but for the price, well worth exploring alternatives with a view.

The directions we recieved as soon as we arrived at the Rialto Bridge were fantastic. Took us less then 5 minutes to find the hotel. ... The hotel is small but comfortable and extremely central to everything Venice has to offer. Francesca and Anna were great hosts. There is no lift, so be prepared to take the stairs everyday.

There needs to be clearer directions on the website about the location of the hotel after arriving at the Rialto by water bus. The streets are a maze and we asked 6 shop assistants before we were given the right directions. the map we were given after our arrival would have been of great use BEFORE we arrived. ... Staff were excellent and made really good recommendations about places to eat. ... Detailed map showing hotel in relation to Rialto water bus stop ... Excellent central location only a short walk from St Marks square and all the shops. Staff were very helpful and the hotel was excellent value for money.

The vaperattos run in two directions. Suggestions on which direction to take would have allowed quicker arrival and less confusion. Also, the reference to the sidewalk cafe tables does not always provide a reliable landmark. The tables were not in place on the day of our arrival. ... We enjoyed our stay and found the property to be very attractive and comfortable. ... An excellent accommodation offering great value in an excellent location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We've already recommended it to several friends.

The stairs leading to the rooms are narrow and steep and the hotel has no lift or staff to help. This could be a problem if you can't carry your case up stairs.
Location was brilliant - only 5 mins to St Marks and Rialto water bus stop. You can wheel your case from the hotel to the water bus stop without negotiating any stairs. ... Good location and comfortable quiet room.

We arrived a day early with friends at Francesca at the front desk check to see if there was a room available, when she realized there wasn't she checked around to a few other hotels and found us other accomodations (for less money also!) She then walked us to the new hotel. We moved back to the Lanterna Marco Polo the next morning. ... Cute, quaint, and the front desk staff is awesome!

Francesca was very helpful providing us with names and locations of nearby restaurants.
One problem which may have been corrected. The name of the lodging had changed from the time we booked, until we arrived, and we were not notified about this change, causing some confusion. ... Breakfast was adequate. Decorations in lodging pleasant. ... Pleasant, local lodging - owner/operator was very accomodating - even allowing us to leave our luggage the morning of departure so that we could sightsee a few hours more. Good location for sightseeing in Venice.

There is nobody to welcome you when you get there in late hours. Place is really small and the worst was that we had to carry our bags upstairs on our own (no elevator). ... Yes. Let people know that if they have large suitcases they should probably go somewhere else. ... Friendly but very small and because of that not very comfortable.

The hotel made absolutely sure that we would be welcomed at any hour, even though our flight time to Venice was not certain. They could not have been more helpful ... We were delighted to return because of the exceptional kindness of Francesca and Anna, and the welcoming ambiance of this hotel. We particularily value the hotel's discrete character and the opportunity it gives us to be left to ourselves, unfussed and unrushed! It is an ideal central location for those who value their privacy. ... Very smooth and effortless. ... Simply to note that it particularily would suit those who wish to stay in exactly the right part of Venice with minimum fuss and maximum kindness. The rooms are excellent, and suprisingly quiet in summer and winter. ... We recommend the hotel as the ideal place to stay in Venice, with Francesca being the perfect hostess . The property was unexpectedly noisy due to the refuse (garbage) collection on the canal nearby.
The breakfast was poor - more fresh products (yoghurt?) needed.
While the stairs are a problem, the staff were very helpful wit assistance. ... 'An adequate but not great B&B with a good location in San Marco'.
