on arrival carpets had not been hoovered for some time and neither were they during 3 night stay.2 single beds pushed together to make a double. The breakfast was extremely poor. Continental breakfast was stale rolls, packet toast, croissants, , cereals,'tea' & coffee, No cheese's or meats. Stayed at Santa chiara (3 *) previosly and this hotel made Nationale seem like its basement. No comparrison. ... efficient ... 1 star. definately not 3 star. ... You pay for what you get.

The hotel was well situated and the staff was very friendly. I especially appreciated the comfort and safety of booking online. ... I cannot believe what I got for the price. I was very satisfied and would stay at the hotel again. ... No ... The hotel was well situated and close to the train station and within walking distance of the main sites. The breakfast served was better than at most in that more variety was offered. I was especially happy to have my own bathroom, a tv, and air conditioning - a rarety in most singles.

This was a very nice place to stay. The rooms are small-ish, though not as small as some others we stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was not as spartan as I had read in some reviews. Our room was quiet and had a nice view overlooking a beautiful courtyard. It is not too far form the Piazzale Roma, the final stopping point for motorized vehicles in Venice, so walking from there to the Hotel Nazionale was not bad. We enjoyed our stay there, and would recommend it to others.

Ellaborate on the shower - room - it very small! ... quiet, gloomy, avoid breakfast, showerroom is small - overall hotel was clean but definately over priced, but hey your in Venice!

My parents have stayed at this hotel previously and they were as impressed as I was. Very nice in every way. ... Very centrally located near the canal taxis and the train station ... Excellant value and well located

Very helpful receptionist fluent in English. ... Great position close to the staion. A rather compact single room, but clean and adequate. No remote for the TV, and the over-bed light did not work. ... Good value for a short stay, but next time (having looked around) I will spend more and do it in a little more style.

If you arrive from the airport to Venice by taxi make sure you take the ferry to the first stop Ferrinova. Otherwise you will have to tackle 3 bridges with your luggage which is real pain. Also, the hotel has a long flight stairs to the lobby. So ask for the bell boy. ... The place was neat and tidy but a bit run down. But if you're not too fuss then its okay. The location is great but I think there were some better hotels along this stretch of Venice. ... The long staircase too the lobby. ... Neat and tidy but a bit run down.
