Very easy to get there from train station or car park - as was clear from the directions provided on the website. The English spoken is adequate. ... The location on the Grand Canal is superb and there are excellent restaurants within the block. An unexpected problem was repaired immediately, with good cheer. ... Everything went as expected, with quick dispatch. ... Thr air conditioning is excellent and immediately effective. ... A wonderful experience--this was our second time in Locando Ovidius--but ask for one of the two rooms facing the Grand Canal. It costs a little more, but the view is superb and there is always interesting activity going on below. If you leave the windows open at night, you might expect mosquitoes.

We tried to upgrade, but there were no upgrades available. ... The room was very nice. It was very clean and everything worked fine, although the TV was a bit static-y and had lines running through it. It didnt matter to us though because we were rarely in the room. The room was also a tad bit small. ... We tried to upgrade to a balcony room, but we didnt get one,. However, if I was given the option to upgrade to a balcony room again I would decline, because although the view from a balcony room is probably superior to the one we had, the balcony is too small. We saw the balconies from the communal balcony and there is no way you could even fit a chair on them. The communal balcony was much nicer and it was never really crowded. ... We stayed at an awesome hogtel which was in the perfect location, right on the Grand Canal overlooking the Rialto Bridge and within walking distance to St. Marks Square. The scenery was beautiful and the restaurants downstairs were phenomenal.

Having emailed the hotel to ask for the vaproetto number to get on, they were excellent. They replied not only with the selection of vaporetto numbers & times, but also information about the ryan air connection bus, and a very accurate map of how to walk to the hotel. Lovely big rooms, great location & very helpful & polite staff, 5 stars! will definitely go back. ... Having emailed the hotel to ask for the vaproetto number to get on, they were excellent.

No assistance with bags up spiral staircase to attic room, even when we asked. ... Attic room was very difficult to reach, bathroom was on a different level down spiral staircase, bedroom had 100mm step across it, tripping hazard and very dangerous. Hotel staff shrugged shoulders at our concern and kept saying how romantic room was! They should specify problems with room before arrival. Could not offer another room, except 'maybe' for second night. ... As above, attic room is very difficult to access and dangerous, bathroom down spiral staircase is inconvient. ... Great location, good staff (except for help with baggage), indifferent breakfast, attic room hard to access.

If you want a short city break in Venice you will not be disappointed with this *** hotel. It's central position overlooking the grand canal and Rialto bridge, combined with friendly staff and good accommodation this is a great economic way to enjoy the holiday.

I was expecting a hot tub jacuzzi which did sound very inviting but we got a shower instead. I told reception but there had been a slight mix-up however we were offered the room if we wanted to change rooms the next day but we thought our room was slightly bigger and as we were with 2 children the size was more important. ... The view from our bedroom room was execeptional and for that we would come back but we thought the room could have been a bit bigger. Tea & Coffee facilities in the room would have been nice. The breakfast room was lovely with a relaxing feeling and the food and beverages were good and staff were friendly. The location was excellent and the general apperance of the hotel was very clean and homely. We would like to come back again in the future but would perhaps like the rooms on the upper floor with views over the Grande canal. Our room lead straight into the breakfast room and wasn't always so private. ... The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly and helped us with our plans on how to get back to the airport and timings etc which helped us enormously ... Mention the view - it really was stunning! I think you should mention more about the view of the Rialto Bridge too and that it's prime location - tourists like that. When I booked on the internet and was confronted with hundres and hundreds of hotels my very first priority was being by the water and having a view of the canal. The photos were brilliant but can I just say it was a bit misleading showing the tables and chairs of the restaurant downstairs - it did give me the impression that that was the hotel's restaurant and we would be having our breakfast there every mroning so I think you need to be more specific about the fact that it is somebody elses restaurant. Perhaps you should do a deal with the restaurant owner for a reduction for all your customers eg voucher etc if you market his restaurant on your web and leave vouchers in the room(business for both of you there). It was definately the first restaurant we eat at. ... What we remember most is the view - we tell everbody about that wonderful view - lovely just watching the way of life on water - it's something we are not familair with in England.
Also the friendlyness of the hotel. And Location, Location, Location.

Always a pleasure to stay there!!! ... We have stayed there before and would again! ... In general, European rooms are not worth the price but of course there is a captive audience! ... The most beautiful spot on the Grand Canal for ease of sightseeing and eating! ... The perfect place on the Grande Canal.

Quick and efficient. ... We loved our stay at the Hotel Locanda Ovidius. The hotel had great charm and for us was in a perfect location. We could walk every where and enjoyed watching life on the Grand Canal from the balconies off the breakfast room and the salon. The rooms were charmingly decorated in the Venetian style. Breakfast was more than adequate and we even got cappucino! Staff was very helpful in making reservations and recommendations about sights, cultural events and restaurants. ... Staff was helpful with an early checkout the day before we left for an early flight home. ... It appears from the website that all the standard rooms have jacuzzis. When we checked in we were given a room, very small, without one that seemed to me to be an economy standard. When I indicated that we wanted a jacuzzi as the website showed, staff was accomodating and gave us a larger room with a jacuzzi for the other three nights of our stay. It should be made clear on the website whether jacuzzis are standard in all standard rooms or not. ... Charming, venetian hotel with accomodating and helpful staff. Rooms were beautifully decorated. Great location and views from canal facing rooms - easy to get everywhere on foot. Would definitely stay there again. Given the high price of hotel rooms in Venice, especially around San Marco, the Locanda Ovidius was good value.

There was a mix up about the beds and we got a double bed instead of twin beds but this was redtified as soon as it was discovered. ... I wouod be glad to recommend it. ... Very helpful regarding onward transport advice and helping with storing cases until we were ready to leave. ... The lift was not mentioned. ... Very well situated in the heart of Venice with good clean rooms and super bathrooms. Went out of their way to get us to a restaurant they recommended-which was excellent. ... The air conditioning didn't work as well as we would have liked. Remember though, that it was VERY hot in Venice and so their system may have been overworked. ... Staff was very helpful-arranged a water taxi to pick us up-worked perfectly. ... Highly recommend

We arrived early and appreciated the accommodation for our bags & a check-in time bumped up almost two hours. ... Pricey, but great canal views. The shower was weird and our towel warmer didn't work... but other than that, a decent place to stay in Venice.

I checked many websites about hotels and yours was the most useful one. You have many pictures of hotels, many stock of hotels, easy to know rate and where ( really useful map you have !!) etc... And also I could easy to contact with hotel's employees by e-mails. So if my friend can speak English, I highly recommend this web-site.
... I am satisfied your website. And when I visit there again, I would like to use yours. ... I did not know about it... ... I could make my travel plan by myself. ... On internet, a little bit difficult to know how to got to there, but they sent me kind message with exactly map. So no problem at all. ... I like this hotel a lot. Nice breakfast room, friendly staffs, you can go out and come back, available 24 hours. ... Staff tried to show me clear how much. And I had to leave very early next morning. He did not complain and immidiately gave me check out. ... When I saw hotel Ovidius ad, I only felt that's nice hotel, yes, positive impression. ... Again, I am satisfied your website. In so many websites about hotels, I picked your one up. And exactly image of this hotel. I have no complain ! Only thanks for helping my good travel !!! ... My hotel was really nice located. Easy to go to San Marco, everyday I could see Rialto, Gondolas. And our room was nice Venezia decorated, a bed, interrior...only Breakfast was so light, but it's normal in Italy. I did everything by myself but if you want, all staff will help making plan, I am sure. If you want to have ticket of concert, they arranged. And if you arrive to there too late, they always in a front dest 24hours, so do not worry about everything !

Nothing in special, except that it was very hot in venice. ... The woman, who served breakfast was very polite! ... Don´t know yet, but your website is very clear and easy to navigate. Your service is very helpful and if we shall plan another holiday, we shall look on your site again. ... A nice and small hotel in the middle of venice withe a very nice look to rialto and the grand canal. But if you want a quiet room, take one, that does not show to the canal. Breakfast is o.k., but could be a little bit more >european<.

Isabelle was there to great us and she was every bit as nice and accomadating as she was when I communicated to her via e-mail. She even remembered that we were on our belated honeymoon and asked about that. ... We cannot say enough about the accomodations. Our room was even better than expected and the views of the Grand Canal were fabulous. I had worried that a room on the Canal would be noisy but suprislingly the room was very well insolated. ... The Hotel was lovely, although we did have some trouble finding it, we asked for directions twice, I think this is due to the close proximity of streets and the fact that they are not marked that clearly.
We had a very pleasant stay in Venice and I would stay at the Hotel again. My only negative comment would be that the breakfast choice was very limited for a Continental and it could improve a great deal. ... The web pictures were not quite the same as the Hotel. I think the Hotel has changed some of the rooms around, ie. the breakfast room was situated on the 2nd floor, however the bedroom picture was accurate. ... I found Venice to be very expensive in general and I found the only negative part of the value for money was in the Continental breakfast. ... No, not really. ... I have already mentioned it to my parents and a couple of my friends.

Wonderful experience. Hotel was exactly as descriped on the website. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. ... Perfect location. Room was small, but that is to be expected in Venice. It was a little load in the morning with the staff cooking breakfast, but overall no complaints. ... Rooms were on the small side, but clean. Little noisy during breakfast preparation.
Balcony was such a great part of the hotel. It was so nice to have a beautiful view of the canal while eating breakfast (which was also very good), and my sister and I sat out there one and and just enjoyed the sites. ... Perfect. Great location, breakfast included, balcony with canal view, small rooms, but clean.
