Palazzo Foscarini, noble building dating back to the second half of the 16th century, belongs to a distinguished Venetian family who gave a very important Doge and many of letters to the city. The building overlooks the canal of Santa Margherita and the beautiful façade of the church of Santa Maria dei Carmini. It retains most of the original artistic and architectural features, witnesses of an ancient heritage, visible in the interiors as well as in the exteriors. |
You can enter Palazzo Foscarini through a delightful internal garden. On the background we can find the elegant building which hosts the "Foscarini Library" created by the Doge on the second half o the 18th century during the refurbishing works of the whole building.
