The photographs on the web site gave a very clear indication of the hotel rooms, facilites etc. The location of Campo Santa Maria Formosa was both beautiful and very convenient. ... A very pleasant stay. ... No problems checking out what so ever. We could leave our baggage in the hotel for the entire day and were able to collect it in the evening. ... A photograph of the door/entrance to the hotel would be helpful as would a name on the hotel front. ... We have recommended it to several people already, it was very clearn, bright, spacious and most of all conveniently located.

we were met at the airport by an meet and great arranged by hotel, and bought to hotel by water tazi.Brilliant experience.Ideal if you land late at night,as it would be very difficult to get your bearing at night time. ... This made the experience ot Venice truly wonderful. The hotel was quiet, peaceful, and decorated just as you would like a true veneitian hotel to be.This hotel is an excellent location, just 5minutes from Rialto Bridge, and 10minutes from St Marks Square close enough without the bustle and expense. We will certainly be returning. No need for flashy hotels. This has everything. ... we were made to feel very welcome checking in and out.It was like been at home.We werent put under pressure to pay straight away. And we were asked if we wanted to store our luggage after we checked out as we had a couple of hours before we left for the airport. ... Best holiday ive had in Itaily so far.

Wery well placed hotel, between the turist zone and next to the 'venezian' part. Extremely quiet stay. As we made a mistake by arriving one day earlier than planned, the manager proposed a good deal to stay there and that was very helpful. Beautiful rooms with contemporary furniture. ... A very good place.

The breakfast could be improved by the addition of fruit and perhaps meats/cheeses ... no ... Very central to many of Venice's highlights, quiet and with excellent, spacious rooms.

La Chmbre est moderne equipee de tout le confort necessaire. Tres spacieuse aussi. La salle de bain etait parfaite avec un grand baignoir et un bidet. Sauf le petit dejeuner qui n'etait pas a la hauteur..

The hotel was delightful, with a wonderful view and fantastic location. Breakfast, however, was not great as coffee was poor, pastries not very nice and fruit not fresh. That was the only criticism we had. Otherwise wonderful. ... Beautiful rooms and view, meagre and not very nice breakfast, but overall a place I would recommend highly.

There is a staircase to the third floor that was right outside our room -- the comings and goings of the guests staying upstairs were very noisy. The hotel should install some carpeting on the stairs to minimize the noise. Also, our room opened on the hallway between the kitchen and the breakfast area -- very noisy in the morning, as the waiter walked back and forth on the marble floor. A rug or two would make all the difference. ... The lobby is still being finished, and the toilet leaked in our room (easily fixable, but not during our stay) -- but we really loved this hotel. The location was wonderful (quiet yet convenient), the room was spacious, we had windows that opened on an enclosed courtyard, and the building is beautiful. With carpeting on the stairs to the third floor and rugs in the hallway (both to minimize the late night and early morning footstep noise), this would have been a perfect stay.

When asked for extra pillows they were brought immediately with a smile. ... A lovely hotel, perfectly situated. Very friendly staff. Room was very clean, airy, and quiet. Tea/coffee making facilities would have been nice as Venice is very expensive. Would reccommend this hotel to my friends/family.

Whilst the guy was absolutely polite, he didn't tell us anything about the room or hotel eg where breakfast was served or what time, or in fact that we'd been upgraded from a twin room to a junior suite free of charge. ... Thoroughly enjoyed it. The location was ideal close to both the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square, in its own quiet square, with canals on two sides. ... The staff were happy to carry our luggage down the stairs and look after it whilst we spent the last morning in Venice. ... I would definitely recommend it as a place to stay, not only for its proximity to St Marks and the Rialto but the Campo S Maria Formosa is a lovely Square with a great little bar/cafe for lunch/drinks and the hotel itself is beautiful.

Everything was as we required & expected. ... Very enjoyable stay, would have liked to stay longer. Breakfast could have been varied from day to day. ... It was only more expensive than we expected because of the falling rate of exchange with Stirling / Euro. ... No ... Very adequate, well positioned & very helpful & friendly to guests.

Elena the Receptionist who was there when I arrived had sent me an email giving me information on how to get to the hotel from the airport. She was very friendly and helpful over the telephone and during my stay. ... After enquiring, I was recommended good restaurants in the proximity of the hotel. I was also allocated a superior category of room than the one I reserved. ... A very nice and well located small hotel with a friendly and helpful manager and staff guaranteeing you a nice stay.

our taxi driver did not take us as close to the hotel as indicated on the website. perhaps the direction section could include more detailed directions that the guest could hand over to the taxi driver ... good value, friendly and comfortable

Small, friendy, personal hotel very well located for St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. The room was great, but the bathroom was up a set of stairs with no natural light.

The recptionist was not behind the desk, we had to wait 2 minutes (I think he was getting a sandwich) .. which is strange thinking about security and unauth access ... The bed cover was not clean, some spots on it. Although we had no problem with it because we had a room at the end of the building there was a disco with open windows with loud music on teh first floor. ... For this amount the breakfast could be better : only few sandwiches with very limited selection of further food ... Fairly good hotel, though searching for other/better place with same price recommended

Staff could not turn down the central heating and consequently it was stifling.
Staff could not work the air conditioning, therefore we had to keep the window open which meant that we were bitten by insects. We spent a considerable amount of money at the pharmacy.
Toilet seat was not secured, so kept falling off. Unsafe.
Bed smelt of sweat (not ours). ... Central but we wouldn't go back

The room was good but I got the impression that we would get the room facing the square and not in to a backyard ... See above about room

We skipped the breakfast on Sunday morning because the rolls and croissants were hard (i.e. a day old). This aspect of the otherwise fine hotel we regretted and was hardly value for money.

Position of the hotel is ideal. Because the hotel is new we found the bed very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. The room lacked a chest of drawers to put clothing in,plus the odd chair and it could do with some pictures on the walls - the room was certainly big enough to take additional furniture.

Although it was easy to locate the square (campo) where the hotel was situated, it was actually rather challenging to find the hotel itself. There was no exterior sign with the name. We had to ask 3 people in the area to finally locate it. And then as we entered, I saw a VERY small sign inside - quite inconspicuous. It seemed as if the hotel's presence was almost being hidden. ... Please put a sign on the hotel itself to make it easier for people to locate. ... Great location. Nice people. Comfortable accommodations. Quiet.

Our arrival was very late and the water taxi did not drop us off at stop for which the written directions had been provided. As such we had to find our own way to the hotel. Thankfully, the people were all very helpful and provided good directions. ... The hotel requires much maintenance. Our bathroom was in need of repairs. The toilet seat was broken and the shower doors were off their tracks. These were reported to the desk but nothing was done about the problems.
The room had many mosquitoes. The night clerk denied their existance but the day crerk admitted that mosquitoes are a common problem in Venice.
Breakfast was not good and food selection was minimal. The bread was dried out and obviously old. ... Clear instructions including a map of how to get to the hotel. ... Very nice but in need of maintenance.

The hotel was beautiful. The breakfast was on the poor side. Compared to my stays across Italy it had the least selection (only cereal and bread on offer - and only one type of cereal too) but the quality was ok.
I would recommend but the instructions on how to get there were not great and there is no sign for the hotel - except a small sticker on the door which is behind bars. I had to go to another hotel to ask where it was, only 2 doors down but impossible to find.
