decent room, pleasant and helpful staff; very near Plaza San Marco; expensive compared to North America standards; can be noisy on weekends if on the street side; would recommend it but have nothing else to compare to in Venice as this was my first visit.

We had requested three rooms with two beds in each. We ended up getting an extra room to accomodate the bed situation.

There was construction going on. The halls were torn up and there was extra furniture in the hall as well. Outside one of the rooms windows was scaffolding for the workers. The remodeled area was beautiful, the rooms were fine but getting to the rooms made you feel like you were in a no star hotel.

Had the remodel of the hotel been completed I would feel that it was a good value for the money but given the mess and workers I feel there should have been a discount.

I had never been to Venice before. We were dropped by water taxi at San Marco with no info on how to get to hotel and no help with our luggage. I had to go to a restaurant and beg for help. We were exhausted by the time we got to our hotel. We were very happy with the hotel once we arrived. Esther and Max (on the front desk) were particularly helpful.

We did have to request a change of room as the first room we were given was tiny. But, we were very happy with the second room. The construction was not difficult to deal with either.

I thought that the bathroom and toilet is bigger..
There could be something on the floor because it was slippery when I got out from bath.

We had to carry our own luggage to our room

Whilst we found the staf very courteous and helpful the room was smaller than I anticipated

Exactually were it is situated as when we arrived thee are 2/3 San Marco hotels and we went into the wrong one

Pleasant with friendly staff, lots of variety of foods for breakfast but rooms a little on the small side. Ideally situated for the main square and sightseeing

Even though the property is undergoing remodeling, i was able to get to anad from my room without any jproblem. The workers were very courteous.
If I were ever to return to Venice, I would return to this property.

I would describe it as a warm and pleasant place to stay. It is also very convenient to any place you would want to get to. The staff was very helpful giving directions and making reservations, as well.

The room was a bit run down and worn, however the location was second to none which made up for it. The room was quite small but very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful & there was a lugage minding facility which was very convenient. Overall I would stay there again as when in Venice, you don't spend much time in the hotel room at all!

Small and room a bit run down with peeling wallpaper, however only steps from San Marco square and a fantastic location,for the first time in Venice, very easy to locate on a rainy dark night as it was when we arrived. Staff welcoming and helpful. We were given a map on arrival (without asking) and major sights were marked out for us which was great.

We found St. Mark's Square OK but had a hard time finding the Royal San Marco from there. The directions were not very helpful.

I expected any place in Venice would be expensive. Based on prices I had seen on the web I expected much less than what we got. The Royal was a pleasant surprise.

The staff was very nice but we had to ask for directions to find the hotel several times before we actually arrived. Venice was rather confusing with the alleys.

The hotel was being remodeled as we stayed there so our room was unfinished. it was clean, which was the best part. It would be nice to visit again when there wasn't so much construction going on.

That it was nice but small and that there was no bathtub. But because of the location and convenience we would stay there again.

One floor was closed due to a water problem. We were offered a room in another hotel (a bit of a dump). I had to insist they find a room at the Royal San Marco and finally we were given a very small room. It was however nice and clean. The breakfast could have been more substantial.

Our stay in Royal San Marco Hotel was satisfactory and we were well received. The rooms are of course small but clean and breakfast is good. Excellent value for money. Water Taxis however do not go to their immediate neighbourhood which is claimed so luggage can be a problem.

The location is good. but the light is darker in the room. if have a bathtub will be better. but by the way if can settle check out time to later will be better. because i just want to late check out to 1:00pm also say no. but i think i will choose again this hotel next time. because the location.
