The service was excellent - attentive without being intrusive. The surroundings were magnificent - wish we had been able to stay for longer. This must be one of the best hotels in Europe ... The best hotel I have ever stayed in

Beautiful place to be highly recommended. Very quiet. Nice swimming pool. Did not test fitness and spa. The children loved it. The restaurant which is by the church is perfect if you can have dinner outside . ... - How quiet it is ... Beautiful hotel away from the Venice noise and turmoil Reasonnably cheap (for a 5 star !)

Our arrival experience was simple and efficient and everything you could want from such a fabulous hotel. We were taken to our room and shown all the ammenities and everythimg was explained to us. ... Our stay was wonderful, the hotel and staff were everything that you could wish for. We were given a free upgrade and a bottle of champagne as it was our honeymoon. It was as close to paradise as you can get. ... Hassle free and well organised. ... Heaven .....

very welcoming ... the experience to Venice was enhanced by the hotel and I would not only stay again but recommend to all. It was a pleasure ... one of our bags was left behind at the hotel and loded on the water taxi but this was taken care of immediatley ... the peace of the place if possible and the facility of the motor launch ... heaven on earth

gal who checked us in was very polite and showed us to our upgraded room ... the room was fantastic, very large, a great air conditioner, clean ... staff forgot to put my luggage on the free shuttle boat as I had arranged and I almost missed my train out of Venice due to their screw up. this should not happen at 5 star hotels. ... no ... I would go back their in a heartbeat

The maitre d' in the restaurant where we ate was very polite with us, but appeared almost frightening with his staff - he obviously spoke in Italian, but his manner towards them was condescending and rude. This created something of an atmosphere in the restaurant and left us feeling a little intimidated. ... The journey from the hotel to San Marco is 20 minutes, and the complimentary boat goes every half hour. Between 1am & 5am (times - ?) you can phone the hotel from Venice and someone will come for you. Also, a complimentary shuttle service was provided to and from Murano - we happened to find this out when we were in the process of ordering a water taxi. ... very nice, very clean, and spacious, and very welcome to escape from the crowds of Venice to somewhere so peaceful after a day of sightseeing. Quite easily accessible, despite the 20 minute boat ride.

Baggage handled and delivered to room Friendly welcome
... Excellent accomodation and breakfast We ate at buffet restaurant first night...excellent meal and wine , but I felt a little expensive....had price been lower would have eaten there again ... A high quality hotel in a superior setting than staying on mainland Venice. The boat journey added to this feeling, and was short enough to be an added enjoyable feature of the stay

After dealing with the hustle and bustle of both Paris, Rome and Venice, we truly enjoyed our 'get-away' to the peace and quiet offered by the San Clements Palace. Our stay far surpassed our expectations and we thank everyone involved for making our stay extremely enjoyable. ... This beautiful hotel had an ideal location. It was very peaceful and quiet. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and provide one with all the comforts that you could possibly want. The San Clemente Palace is truly a place to relax - a get-away from the hectic everyday world.

We found the boat launch from the vaporetto stop very easily. ... This was our first trip to Venice, and we primarily chose the hotel so that there would be a pool for our children. However, we LOVED the hotel and would stay there again whenever visiting Venice. It is a peaceful oasis away from the crowds in Venice. ... A beautiful, peaceful oasis when visiting Venice. It was always nice to step off the hotel launch and walk through the beautiful grounds back to the hotel. We loved having a glass of Prosecco every night sitting on the terrace near the bar.

I can't remember whether or not it was ont he website but the fact that there is free (& fantastic) boat transport from and to San Marco Square every 20mins throughout the day and late into the evening is a big plus. ... Incredibly peaceful & luxurious oasis which you can retreat to for breaks from hectic sight seeing in Venice. As a complete contrast to Venice it is perfectly complimentary and allows you to stay longer than you might want to stay fro an average city break.

Directions to hotel - the San Clemente has a private shuttle (boat) to the hotel. The only problem was we didn't know where to catch the shuttle from in San Marco Plaza (it is a big plaza). You might want to include that the shuttle dock is behind the taxi stand. ... San Clemente Palace was a fabulous hotel and the price couldn't have been better! We even were upgraded to a junior suite.

Generally very good but: the breakfast staff exuded an air of impatience especially from 10.00 onwards...b/fast ends at 11.00!.wanting to eat outside was made feel a big deal despite lots of empty tables (which were not set- to discourage you ?). Concierge etc very good. ... rooms very quiet- a big plus ... very peaceful and relaxing escape from the intensity of Venice . breakfast could be more friendly . corridoors very wide and long and sparse!

The mini bar was not replenished during our stay even though we asked. The phone system for an outside line was not working and the technician never returned to repair it even thouf he indicated he would return. We asked for face cloths and had to retreive them from the maid's cart since they were never brought to us. The hotel staff did not seem very well organized. ... It is not worth the money, go somewhere else.
