Burano, the most picturesque of the
Lagoon Islands, is situated in a northern lonely part and is visible
from the distance because of its high bell tower.
Houses with bright colours and with
wooden shutters are the distinctive details of the streets and docks
of Burano.
Here is still developed lace handicraft
and this tradition led to found a professional school called "Scuola
dei Merletti". Is very difficult to find original lace of Burano
because the expensive specimens require weeks of hard work.
