Once in San Servolo there was one of
the older monastery of Venice, but now the island is the centre
for the training of artisans and restorers.
In 1980 San Servolo was acquired by
the European Centre for the Training for the Artisan of the Architectonic
Property (visitable on request), where students compare with the
traditional artisan tecniques for artistic restore.
