Excellent manner and very helpful. A first class experience. ... The Air Conditioning was very weak but that seems to be usual in Europe. ... Very helpful and excellent assistance ... Great place to stay. But be prepared to open the windows if it is hot out since the airconditioning is very weak as is generally in European hotels

Locanda Santa Maria Formosa was a lovely hotel, very comfortable, and conveniently situated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was really too small, but, even so, it was charming. ... The property was as stated on the web site, but had a very appealing ambience which had to be experienced to be appreciated. ... Staff ordered a water taxi for us and helped with luggage. ... Charming, highly recommended.

This is a lovely little Locanda. We will stay here again on a return trip. Very happy to have found it. Your site has helped us find many great little hotels in the past. Thanks Again, Leslie Nance ... Beautiful view from our room. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, quite, great in room breakfast, really perfect for the price. ... This is a gem for the price. Easy walk to anywhere you want to go. ... No I think you do a fine job with that. There were no suprises, positive or negative. ... Not easy to find if you are first time visitor to Venice. Pay the extra money and get a water taxi to take you there. We have been to Venice many times and know the square very well so we found it right away. Peasant and happy place. Again we will stay there again on a return trip.

The location of the hotel is wonderful. It was a five minute walk from Rialto Bridge and from Piazza San Marco, yet it was in a quiet, non-touristy area, away from the ruckus. So many people told us that Venice was crowded and noisy, and we could see what they meant when we went to San Marco and saw the numerous hotels in that area. However, this hotel was very peaceful, absolute quiet. We loved our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone! ... The location should be stressed, it was a big positive! ... Wonderful, the perfect Venetian experience.

It was dificult to find the hotel and walking around Venice with lugage in no picnic! But once we found it, the man who met us was very nice and help us with the lugage ... We had a nice stay a the hotel. I wish the coffee was better as Italian coffee usually is. ... As I said, the coffee in the morning was not tasty. We wish the hotel had a expresso mashine to offere the guests the truly good Italian coofee. ... It is a nice small hotel, located by a lovely side canal

The only problem was when we arrived, there was a sign on the door saying that we needed to check into their sister hotel, which was quite a walk with bags and rather difficult to find. We would have been much much happier if we had known this beforehand. ... We were asked to check out a day before, which we didn't mind doing, but it would have been nice to have been warned of this on our arrival, as when we were asked, we did not have the right credit card on us but were expected to pay immediately. ... That you need to check into their sister hotel. Also, a map of this hotel's location should be included and an indication of distance. ... Beautiful rooms, very small, great views, good location. More like staying in a private apartment than a hotel, as you don't have normal hotel amenities at close hand. Be prepared for the long walk from the Rialto stop with baggage.

We were directed to what we thought was to be our hotel. When we arrived and checked in we had to haul our baggage to the sister hotel (locanda formosa} across many streets. the accomodation was nice, but two flights of stairs was difficult for my wife. ... That there are sister hotels and you must check in at one in order to get to the Formosa, which is blocks away. ... small, friendly, good location, but very expensive for what you receive

The door was locked and we had to ring a bell. This was answered and we were asked to wait. It was not clear however that someone from the other hotel (La Corte) did actually have to come over. We waited for approx. 15 minutes outside. It is perhaps better to directly refer to the other hotel for check-in. ... Very little room for taking breakfast at the hotel ... OK

in regards to question 8, it was clean, private and spacious, but not so quiet. in fairness to the hotel, the noise was from outside, but it wasn't the most peaceful.

It was around 1130 PM when we arrived, and there was nnot anybody to welcome us. We had to wait for 8 to 10 minutes out in the street, which was not pleasent at all.
The downstairs room given to my father was not hot enough, there was a problem with the heating and he was offered another room. ... no ... Well placed, romantic, very clean, breakfast a bit poor, and not a 24 hour concierge service.

We were made to wait about 15 minutes before someone came to let us in... and it was raining. ... Room was lovely, but the so called 'canal view' we booked and paid extra for was barely visible from the window. Directly in front of the window was a wall, you had to strain to see the canal.
