Only negative comment about our accommodations is that we requested a queen size bed and a twin size bed in our triple room. The twin bed was a small cot large enough for a child, not an adult. We had three adults in that room, no children.

Except for the comment above regarding the bedding, I would highly rate and recommend the Locanda to anyone.

The Locanda is a wonderful bed and breakfast in a relatively quiet location of Venice just a few minutes walking distance from all main attractions. It is very clean, newly renovated, perfect for a night or two. You're right in the heart of the Venezia culture and people. Rooms are a good size; rates are quite reasonable. I highly recommend it.

WE did not ask for directions--we had friends waiting for us at the airport--they were staying at the hotel too.
The staff was prepared--knew who we were immediately--We feel àt home`.

WE are wondering, how can the price be the same for room Prive`2 and room no 6---and for the long, small room on the first floor. There is big difference in the sizes but ----not in the prices.

A cosy small, beautifull hotel with a real, italian atmosfhere. Lovely rooms in beautifull light colors. . Well situated- in a nice area and close to everything important for tourists in Venice.
The breakfast was served preciously at the agreed time---always with a big smile.

Unfortunately there was confusion when we arrived as the hotel did not appear to haveour booking. One room was available for our first night, and we were very upset at the thought of being without accommodation for the next 2 nights as the hotel was full. However we produced the confirmation of the booking, and the next morning we were relieved to be told that we could stay for our 3 nights after all.

The hotel is absolutely lovely. It is beautifully furnished, very clean, and in a good location. The staff are also lovely. We would always choose to stay there each time we return to Venice.

This is very easy as the hotel is so small there is never a problem. There is somewhere to store luggage and a bathroom to use before catching the plane.

The staff were very friendly and the standard of service was as good as the previous owners. Previous staff remembered us from last April!
Staff were also available to let us out to explore Venice at 7am.

This property was beautiful and a great value for the price. The front desk staff was helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would defintitely book this hotel again for future vacations. The directions did lead you to the property eventually but with luggage, they were not the best. We found a much quicker and easier route that also did not require us to mount any stairs over the canals. Your directions had us up and down 4 canal staircases and with luggage on a hot day, it was unecessary.

We would definitely book this hotel again. It was a beautiful and clean accomodation. The breakfast was a plus and it was nice to have air conditioning. The staff was friendly and helpful and the property was in close proximity to all the sites.

The top room (room 6) had a lovely view over the rooftops of Venice and the room was nicely furnished in the Venetian style. It had a great deal of character and the bathroom was not too small. Very clean and the towels, shampoo, soap etc was replaced every day. Nice power shower. Very good for the price.

I would highly recommend it. Although in a small building, the room was lovely and it was in an interesting location (easy to get to St. Mark's Square but also in a residential area near the hospital). Very cosy and welcoming.

Locanda SS Giovanni e Paolo was very clean, modern and welcoming and we were very pleased with it.
It was very conveniently located for seeing Venice and the staff were very friendly and helpful.The continental breakfast brought each morning to our room was lovely and nicely presented.
We would certainly stay there again.
A small suggestion would be that tea & coffee making facilities provided in the bedrooms would be nice, other than that - perfect!

The fact that it was only 10 minutes walk from the Locanda to Piazza San Marco was a pleasant surprise and yet it was in a nice quiet area should be mentioned as a plus!

Small, but very comfortable. We were welcomed very warmly each time we arrived or departed from Locanda SS Giovanni e Paolo. The pictures and descriptions given on the website matched perfectly with what we saw and experienced during our stay.

The night service ferry comes into S. Marco whereas the directions we had were for a different ferry stop.

The room provided was of a high decorative standard with an excellent shower room. The party wall to the adjoining room was not particularly sound proof.
The staff efficiency was not always what might be expected; breakfast ordered for 8 arriving at 8.45 with lukewarm coffee on second morning and no towels in room on second afternoon and shower room not cleaned.

We booked our hotel through VeniceBy.com and were quite happy with the results. The pictures showed us exactly what we would be receiving for accomodations without exaggeration. We would definately recommend this site to others.

The only disappointment was that the night clerk told us we had to be back by 12:30 am otherwise he would be 'unavailable'. We didn't realize there was a curfew as it is not mentioned in the description.

The directions would have been much simpler if we had been instructed to turn left and take the less scenic route to the facility. It is quicker and you do not have to deal with canals when you have luggage.

Very nice, not particularly quiet and a little difficult to locate when it is your first visit to Venice. Staff could not be more accomodating. Even walked us to a recommended restaurant several blocks away to keep us from getting lost.

The directions from Fondamente Nouve were confusing. Ther wa a much more obvoius and easier route to follow.

When I emailed the locanda to give our time of arrival (late in evening) they sent us excellent instructions on how to get there (important in Venice) and although no-one was there when we arrived, they left our keys and info at a nearby hotel, which was fine.

We were greeted as if we were 'family' not unknown guests. Made to feel very welcome and at home. We felt they were waiting for us as soon as we walked in the door and gave our name.

An Palazzo with old world charm but up to the minute amenities. Comfortable bed and furniture. Friendly staff, perfect location for seeing Venice, while located on a quite street for a restful night's sleep.
Overall a great experience. We will recommend to family and friends and will stay again on our next visit to Venice.

They have a deal with a glass factory on Murano island - we told them we were going over and they arranged a free private water taxi and tour on the other end.

We arrived at Venice in torrential rain and were very very wet and cold. We did ask if we could have some heating but were told a) the heating could not be turned back on and b) that they would try and find a heater but we did not get one. Apart from that we did enjoy our stay at Locanda SS Giovanni e Paulo.

We did not receive directions with our reservation confirmation. We were, however, able to get directions from the Tourist Information office and had no problem finding the hotel.

It was difficult to negotiate the streets of Venice - it is like a maze! A better map would be ideal.

On the web site it stated that they prefered you to pay in travellers cheques or cash but when checking out the lady said it would be easier to pay by credit card

At first the hotel was a little tricky to locate - but once we found it - no problems!

Room was delightful and breakfast was ontime each morning. Airconditioning worked great - which was not the case at some other hotels! Glad we had it because mosquitos are a problem in the summertime. Very clean - new bathroom.

Our train did not leave until 4pm - the staff held our luggage for us until our departure so we could sightsee.

Buy an all day Vaporetta pass (water Taxi) or one that is good for several days - we used it to come home after a long day of sightseeing and there are several restaurants right where the taxi docks for dinner. Good for 24 hour periods.
