The Hotel Vecellio is situated at Fondamenta Nuove, the long promenade on the northern side of Venice. Through its windows, you can admire the north side of the lagoon: the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello, Mazzorbo, and it is from here that the boats leave to connect those islands with Venice.

On clear days one can also see the Alps, which appear to rise by the end of the lagoon.
Near the Hotel, over 400 years ago, lived Tiziano Vecellio, the great genius of 16th Century Venetian painting. Perhaps it was the fact that, for here, he could admire his beloved mountains of Cadore, where he was born, and which he left to go to Venice when he was young, that made him choose this area for his home and studio.

In the well tended garden he used to organize cultured gatherings with the literati of those times, including Arentino, Bembo, and Sansovino. One of them, describing the delights of this area, wrote "on the extreme side of Venigia, by the sea, overlooking the misty small island of Murano, is another of the most beautiful of places". Within this distinctive atmosphere, you may experience the warm hospitality and the efficiency of our friendly personnel.
