The waterbus Alaliguna red line took us to the bus stop 'Zattere'.What we did not know was that it departed from a different stop by the church on the other side of the footbridge about 200 metres away. This caused a real problem on the way home and was nearly responsible for us missing the boat to the airport. It would help in future if the departure point is pointed out to guests when they arrive. ... Originally we booked for 5 people. In the event only 3 could come.It was fortunate that we had no need of the small bedroom because a broken vase and protective chest severely limited the space and comfort level in that room.We told the office about the wardrobe doors falling off in the double bedroom,it was luck that nobody was hurt, the doors were heavy, and difficult to take off safely. We were grateful that a member of staff quickly came to see that all was well and we were not inconvenienced by the fact that a repair could not be done during our stay. The gap between the bath and the adjoining wall is not sealed, it requires great care when using the shower to avoid a minor flood on the bathroom floor. One or two light bulbs did not work and there were no replacements to hand. ... Coming back to the apartment when it is dark we were glad that we carried a torch with us.The walkway to the door is quite long and unlit at that time. ... Good quality apartment, very convenient for travel to and from the airport,in a quiet and pleasant location.Within very easy walking distance of the Grand Canal and the Academia bridge.Small general store,a pharmacy,a popular trattoria, and an excellent wine and sandwich shop are all very near.Highly recommended.

Accademia stop nearly as close as Zattere and would have meant we arrived down the Grand Canal rather than round the back. ... Monica very pleasant and helpful about local services ... The area felt very 'Venetian' compared to our previous stay in Venice - by which I mean it felt as if we were living in an area where tourists were in the minority. It is also very easy to get around from there.
Appartment is very spacious and pleasant. It still feels like a home rather than a hotel and has fabulous art books, pictures, Murano glass ornaments.
This appartment is not unique in this but as a Brit I fail to understand why there is no electric kettle (the water is very hard and furs up the pans badly)and why only cups the size of thimbles are provided.

A map showing the location of nearby grocery stores would be a plus. ... The apartment is under air conditioned. It needs at least two more air conditioners: one in the living/dining room and one in the third bedrooom. ... I would have said fair or good, but, again, the uncomfortable situation caused by the lack of adequate air conditioning was a definite negative. ... I think the apartment would be very nice in the fall or spring.
